At ACA on Sat 25th. They don't come up very often, so I'll be interested to see what it fetches.

I thought only LS2 had twin exhaust exits (?) but DVLA has it down as a 5.7 litre; so thread title may be wrong but I can't change it... rolleyes

Guide price is £7500 - £8500:

The front wing definitely is but I'd only say 2 shades maybe smile Perhaps just the door has been replaced / painted?

Needs to be seen 'in the flesh' I suppose to be sure.

Only done 400 miles since its MoT pass last November, after faulty parking brakes was rectified it seems.

Small issue I know, but it looks like the brake fluid reservoir lid is missing?
Certainly looks like at least 2 shades of colour.
Good point. Seem like an ambitious guide price then.....

You blind ? Clearly it has two tips.
I love how everybody judges the paint from some poor quality phone pictures.
Er, that's what he said, one each side.

Those photos were taken by the auctioneers themselves (that's the grounds of the hotel nearby), not some quick camera snaps by the seller.

I was at the auction yesterday and the top bid was £6800. This was a 'provisional' sale because it was below reserve, the catalogue results are updated by ACA in the week and the result be on there.

Quite a few Motorhub cars end up there, and sometimes fetch more at the auction than they've been advertised for!! Auction fever / poor research by bidders.

I took a few photos that I'll get off my phone to upload, it was even rougher than I expected. But it got a lot of attention, sounded good anyway. smile

I was at the auction to view and maybe bid on other cars but since a Monaro is a rare breed, I was curious to see how it would go. It was driven through and sounded great; I've had a VXR one for only a few months so it's difficult to judge comparative values with so few for sale.

Here's some close up photos I took.

The o/s front wing had rust coming through:

It appeared that it was the door that didn't match the rest of the car, it's paint was fresher.

Looking through the rear window, you could see the rear headrest seams had come apart, both of them, as well as other seams. Here's one:

The n/s door handle had missing paint:

The final results aren't up yet so it may have sold, but seeing as it has been relisted on ebay by Motorhub, it appears that they didn't accept the top bid of £6800 (including buyers premium = £7289). The seller would have got £6800 - 6% (+ VAT) = £6310.

Considering it's condition and mileage, is the amount bid for an auction about right?

Edited to add - Results are up now, displaying the original estimate so it didn't sell:

Well considering its condition, it was NOT a VXR model, 82k miles on it, more expensive VED (reg. date after March 2006), and it was an auction, a top bid of £6800 indicates good cars are worth quite a bit more!

Why look at rusty ones if you didn't want one? Oh, yes to get one cheap...…..

And if he has a rust free Camaro, why, at the end of Nov was he after Monaro wheels?

Well spotted bigwheel! Clicking on an old 'George Smiley' thread contribution takes you to the profile of Triumph Trollemite.

I started on the TVR area of PH and still go there. It, too has negative posters but on the whole is helpful and informative. It's what PH is about and I've learnt about the quirks of several different car marques on here, long may it be.
