Hi all, well Ive been considering when the ideal time to get a CV8 would be. According to "What Car" UK consumer web site the Monaro should depreciate as follows over the next 4 years.

Vauxhall Monaro Coupe V8 2dr £29,895 £19,147 £16,277 £13,667 £11,348

Shows prices listed from Year 0. Now as the car has just passed its 1 year point I think its holding up a little better than indicated above, though I have seen them advertised just under £20K, Im sure with some haggling the above table isnt too far wrong though Im suspect its based on an "average" for vauxhalls.

For me, year 2 looks a good time to buy.

Check out http://www.whatcar.com/DepreciationIndex.asp for other stuff.

Yes, except there are a few reasons why I would like to wait, which includes a no fault claim to an uninsured driver. As well as an SP50 which comes off my record in Jan 06.
Also just floating the comment to guage reaction. As I believe that the monaro is holding its value a little better than indicated, though a check on the vauxhall site shows some sub £20K ones there too. (Well one anyway, which is not the one on Autotrader).
Also as has been mentioned what a cash client pays does not necessarily match the ask price. We are talking main dealer retail prices. Im sure trade in and wholesale are significantly closer.

Still, Im not complaining, because I want one next year!
