Linden Stage III Monaro slower than Lancer FQ320??? really??

Can i gauge your opinion on something.................

Realistically speaking, how is my Monaro CV8 in its current Linden Stage II & Wortech remap state likely tocompare to a Lancer EVo7 FQ320 on straight line speed?

I ask as ive made the mistake of posting up the events i had racing above mentioned car at the weekend on another forum and have now come under strong debate from the Lancer Register.. Briefly My experience was on joining the motorway where i stayed with said vehicle to 60ish....... and from around 60/70ish starting pulling away and eventually pulling away in a very very big way...

Now then, certain lancer owners say a Monaro VXR recently recorded a 30-130mph time of 33secs? yet a lancer evo (not sure which one) did this in 17sec? is this possible? I thought even a standard VXR monaro did 0-100mph in 12.5sec?

So, do i have my head in the clouds... was the evo just playing with me??

Sorry to post a this type of thread, but any feedback on my thoughts over this experience would be appreciated!

Only now im going to leave it! This started out as a nice chat on vvoc.com with some vectra owners that i know.

Anyway, for some reason the lads a Mitusbishi Lancer register took offence to it and launched a torrent of abuse, laughing away my Monaro claims etc etc..


I feell such an idiot! Why do i get involved in such debates! Ah well live and learn!

This is the chart... the Monaro is second from last!? I find this very confusing.... I just can see how it can take 33 sec to get from 30-130mph?

Any ideas or thoughts??? This is reported to 'not' be done in 6th gear, but surely it was fluffed or something?

So ive been onto Allan at WRC and hes has confirmed a few things!

1. The Car was a standard 2005 CV8, so we are looking
2. The Car had a full boot of tools & full Tank of petrol, it was weighed before the run at 1800KG!!
3. The run ws slightly up hill.
4. He started in 2nd Gear and went through all gears!
5. Ran on shitty supermarket grade fuel. (i.e. not super)

So, his power to weight ratio of 345BHP @ 1800KG means only 191BHP per ton!

the FQ320 is 1400KG @ 326BHP, thats 232 per ton!

The Porsche GT3 which ran a 15.73 weighs 1270KG @ 300BHP, so thats 236BHP per ton!

So Monaro ran way way out of time, additionally Allan said he used all gears! Is that really necessary? as i thought 130mph would easily have been cracked in 4th gear at least! Im still amazed by the time...

What do you guys think?
