2015 Monaro CV8 Starter Issue

I recently bought a Monaro CV8 and it has starting issues. I had the same issues with my old VT2 SS 20 years ago and I think it is due to the starter cooking under the exhaust manifold.

Last week the car clicks (solenoid clicking) but the starter motor does not spin. I did the old trick of rocking it in 3rd gear, which was difficult because it was on a gravel drive, and the starter worked - once. Since then it's left me stranded and I can't trust the car until I've changed it for a known good.

Question is: Where to get one from? Vauxhall have nothing, tried a few local motor spares and Euro which doesn't list them either. Can anyone recommend a supplier? I'm near Cambridgeshire if that helps.

Many thanks for all the replies, I will investigate the options. I have moved out of London (last week!) and lost the email address I have on my profile so wondered why I was not getting notifications.

Walkinshaw is shut for Christmas, so will try the other options. I would rather buy a new one and have a spare for rebuilding but we will see what pans out.

If you go with the FedEx shipping where the VAT / Duty is pre-paid, you could have it by Friday

Bit fiddly getting to the wires, but can be swapped in situ from underneath. Disconnect the battery first.

I looked at Rock but in the end I got one (ordered for delivery tomorrow) from PartsWorld using the part # you supplied above

Now I've just got to find someone to fit it before Christmas
