As some of you know I will be leaving these shores in the not too distant future. To celebrate (in more ways than one) Lynne, Dan and I would love you all to join A BIG CRUISE up ere in the north.

The cruise will be open to all vehicles, but I would love to see a large gathering of HSV, Holden and Monaro in the line up.

Don't worry you won't need a passport, or special jabs, its just a tank of juice from the south. Just jump on the A1, M1 or M6 and you'll find the glowing light in the north.

Details will be arrnaged nearer the time, but the basic plan is:
> Saturday day - cruise in Northumberland
> Saturday tea - pizza on the quayside (family friendly)
> Saturday night - drink on the toon (if you want)
> Sunday morning (if fit) - cruise into Yorkshire to say farewell for those who are travelling south.

For those making the long distances and can make a long weekend, try and come up on the Friday night and go home Monday, well worth it just to go out in Newcastle on a couple of nights

I already have a flier with hotel details, just let me know if you want it emailing.

The cruise weekend is (thanks Andy!!!) 18 and 19 March 2006

So is anyone interested?

Right the plan is coming together.

Saturday morning initial meet Washington Services South A1 for those who can make an early start in Newcastle.

Drive to Scotch Corner Services to pick up those travelling from the south on Saturday. LEave Scotch Corner at 10ish, travel up the A68 through Tow Low and on to Hexham Horseless Carriages to meet those who can get up early. Leave Hexham say 11.30ish, drive to Kielder to get a sandwich (location TBC).

Drive back to Newcastle for a pint and farewells for those going home.

For those staying the night check in to where ever and have a pizza on the quayside in Newcastle.

Sunday, depending travel down North Yorks Moors and finish in York area to say goodbye to those travelling south....

Detials are being confirmed over the next couple of days.

The weekend cruise is arranged, times are as follows.

Leave Scotch Corner Services at 10.00. Travel To Hexham Horeseless Carriages for second meeting point.

Leave Hexham at 12.00. Travel to pub at Kielder for lunch. (Pub may not be nice to look at but sandwiches are supposed to be good). After lunch visit Kielder reservoir visitor centres.

Leave Tower Knowe visitor centre at 15.00. Travel to Wheatsheaf Pub at Callerton near Newcastle Airport. Estimate arrive at Callerton about 16.15 hours. Time for a refreshment, say goodbye to those going home or time to check in and get ready for evening meal.

Italian munchies at 19.00.

Sunday - the North Yorks Moors run
Have a big BREAKFAST

Leave Washington Services (southbound) at 11.00. Travel to Moors Visitor Centre. Arrive approx 12.30.

Leave at 13.00. Drive to Hemlsley. Have a walk around for an hour and have an ice cream

Don't think you are interferring, thank you for the advice. It is the moors centre at Danby. I've tried to do a direct route with scenery and roads, but no do too many miles 'cos fol coming on Saturday will be swamped out with driving. I think I'll do the route you mentioned (again) before I leave though.

Regards

Not sure?

For anyone coming on Saturday please bring cash as the lunch pub has no plastic facilities. And this pub is where Mrs Dan_the_man's brother works and the food is superb.

I have spoken to Tony at HHC and he has very kindly agreed that we all meet at his location. Tony has been out with our N.E.s in th past and is a very nice sociable guy.

Sad to report a low turn out.

For those that did make it thank you very much for an excellent weekend - I hope you enjoyed the free beer and lap dancing girls.

I should be able to make the cruise in 5 years time in Port Lou Macari with free accommodation so get the nets out and the hula girls in training and make sure Flipper is there to greet us.

Anyway, I was looking at the new Australia Holiday advert last night and came up with a much better one:

"Come to Australia for your ohliday because we don't want you f*******g living her you Limey b******s"

Class, I know your criminal activities will get you into Australia without even trying. I just need to work out how to get the nets out on an which beach first?
