Anyone,

Heard this the other day and not sure if it is true - When you take the roof off a Tamora and put it in the boot, it splits the boot in half - effectively reducing the boot space to nil.

Cant be quite correct can it?

Would go to nearest TVR dealer but it is peeing with rain and I am a lazy bugger...

Cheers,

Paul

True'ish. The roof fits into a slot at the middle of the boot between the exhaust and petrol tank. There is room on either side of the roof to put things but as there's no roof bag you'd better be careful not to damage the roof!

Ah thats OK then - I was worried that they had regressed to the good old Griffith days. Ahh, that wonderful dance of "putting the roof in the boot"...

How is the luggage space overall? Have a Chimaera at the moment (lots) and wonder if it is OK - dont need too much... just more than a Boxster...

Paul

I'd go take a look, it's not very big at all, especialy compared to the Chimaera and Tuscan.
The exhaust robs quite a lot of depth, with the roof in your're probably worse off than in the Griffith.

Shame, still all you need is a toothbrush to get the bugs out of the teeth anyway..

Unfortunately yes - currently in negotiation with the mortgage people and the capital that I can release could well be enough....

But then again - I really should concentrate on just enjoying this one before upgrading! I can see this getting awfully expensive if I am not careful - it did last time!

Paul, I had a Chimaera for 3 years and the Tamora's in a different league!
The boot is a lot smaller than the Chimaera's but in 3 years I only filled the Chimaera's boot a few times!
If you're thinking of getting a Tamora then go for it. There's a few dealers with stock cars for sale already so you could even jump the queue!
Cheers...... Andrew

How can they have 2 for sale, or are they selling up or something?

How can a dealership have Second hand Tamora's up for sale already????
And 5 between two of them!! It's mad!!
Could it be that the dealerships got more than one demo, maybe 3, and are now selling of two of them???

HH have one as well I think, or they said that to me last time I was in.

They arent second hand, they are brand new, dealers have to order so many cars per month so it would seem sensible that they order Tamora's as its probably the easiest to shift TVR in the range.

Casting doubt on TMS now are we? It seems that the Tamora is a pretty big hit and TVR are struggling to keep up with demand (dont they always). Being one of the larger TVR dealers in the country dont you think that it would be good sense to have a couple?

As for making them available for sale - of course they want to sell them. They are demonstrators! They cost money to buy and will want to shift them on as soon as possible - especially if they can command list price at the moment. Give it 6-12 months down the line and they will not get list price (demand slackens and supply picks up) and therefore they have lost money. So in the meantime it makes perfect sense for them to try and sell them at list and not make a loss - and it looks good on their figures for TVR....

Oh, and the comment above for the requirement of number of cars per month is true - a dealer has to purchase a number of cars per month and it makes perfect sense to take Tamoras as they are cheaper, easier to shift and in demand - it would be riskier to take a load of Cerberas as this would take much longer to sell on....

Cheers,

Paul

yep, the 'small' dealers have to take a mandatory 25 cars a year and the 'big' dealers have to take a mandatory 50 cars a year (the dealers have to declare themselves as a 25 or 50 car operation).

Still I'm not sure the Tamora is in that much demand, if they were then these dealers wouldn't have 2 or 3 unsold cars sitting around.

Still think it's a bit of a cheek that the dealers can get 'stock' cars of a new model effectively beating the queue for anyone who walks in off the street and buys one!
Kings have got a 'stock' Tamora that they weren't expecting until the early customer orders had been completed.
Also, as far as I know the dealers cannot sell their demo cars for a set time. A dealer without a demo car wouldn't make TVR very happy!

When I was looking for a TVR, and hadnt decided HH said that they had ordered two cars at the same time. One was to be a demo and one a sale vehicle.

So from that I took it to mean they had ordered them as soon as they could but ordered two, so didnt really jump the queue.
