Haha to be fair I'm probably about the same. I've never seen anything near 30 in my Tuscan. I'd be embarrassed if I did! My daily driver Defender only just hits 30 on a run.
I managed high 20s once when driving through France following a friend who's T350 had broken down and was in a slug of a hire car so I was basically taking it gently the whole time.

To be fair my other half was in the passenger seat so that was probably the biggest factor in achieving a good MPG!

To be fair Chaz the Sag was never designed to be fuel efficient, nice permanently deployed air brake etc and i am sure the 3.6 will be better on fuel than a 4.0 anyway.
So long as you enjoy the drive it doesn't matter whether you get single figures or 30 smile

I have only seen an average of 15 mpg due driving the Sag the way it was intended to be driven

All credit to you Tony but like Chaz I would have had the boss in with me for probably 75% of my time in the Sag and while she is happy to let me have some fun in the nice cars I do still have to be realistic about how I am going to drive it a) on the road and b) with her sat beside me.

To be honest if you are going to do a trip covering the miles you are talking about then driving it all the way in a manner to return 15 MPG I would be very surprised if you didn't amass a few of her majesties displeasure points from our friends in blue.

Good luck on your journey and hope you decide to keep your Sag , they are lovely pieces of kit for the money.

The run up to Scotland (Inverness) will be a steady 75 to 80 max,once on the NC500 we will obey the speed limit or try at least as all it takes is one of us to get over excited lol
I can only agree that the Sag is a lovely piece of kit,to give you some sort of idea i own a ferrari scuderia,lamborghini diablo sv,porsche 964 turbo and various outber cars,yet since buying the Sag its the only car i have driven which makes a bold statement!

Always found that making progress where conditions permit usually results in no interaction with the BIB unless the observation skills aren't working as they should do.
On that basis that it is being chosen over the rest of your lovely collection why the thoughts of selling?

I only sold mine because I wanted to scratch a different itch whereas you already have many that you can scratch all at once.

On the A/B roads its a good weapon seriously its just like a go kart on steroids, yet on the motorway anything over say 1.3.0 doesn't inspire one with confidant,who knows i may just keep it,love the sound,colour and most importantly it looks incredible!!

I have crashed the topic abit as I have a T350, but obviously when you are just covering ground on the motorway you are going to be more efficient than when doing b road driving. We had a lot of miles to cover (600 in one day), would have loved to have taken longer and done b roads all day long though!

I organised a drive to the Lakes yesterday and managed around 20 mpg
I did approximately 280 miles round trip,the speed that we were doing can not be aired but i have gaind confidence in the Sag and its rock solid at 1.4.0 and on the twisty scalextric roads it reigned supreme,the speed was electric too,so to get 20 mpg was fantastic,this said the 70/80 miles drive back was a 70/75ish

Over the last 2000 odd miles I've had the average of 20.67 MPG.

I've had everything from 18.52 to 24.3 mpg out of the tanks depending what I've been doing.
