It is funny but everyone (and I know a lot of TVR owners through the club) who didn't like it has completely changed their opinion on seeing the car in the flesh. I include myself in this as I didn't like the car when I first saw a picture of it. However, now I own one I think it's the best TVR I have ever driven, and before I get some twatty reaction I have owned a Wedge, Griffith, Cerbera and driven almost every car TVR has ever built. If you don't like it Alex that is fair enough. You do, however leave yourself open to attack for being jealous when you put comments like that. Have you driven one? I doubt it. Have you actually seen one in the flesh?

have you guys seen one then.....seeing flashers bombing down my street made me realise how smart it really is, certainly attracts attention and if I could I'd get one in the same colour or a variation of orange

Outside of TVR the accepted norm seems to be 3000rpm for the first 1000 miles but it sometimes 3000rpm for 250 miles.

Ooeerr, Me engine will be a mess!! I decided 4000 revs was fine after 250 miles, and I slipped up overtaking today and nearly hit 5000! Oh no, thank God for warranties!!

Seriously, I was told to stick reasonably to the suggested run in schedule, but some revving dosen't matter as long as you don't labour the engine, or use prolonged high revs. That 5000 rpm burst was like driving another car! I came round a roundabout and wanted to get past a people carrier - so I did, and in about 3 seconds, opened up a 400yard gap. Phenomenal!!

...and then people will complain again about the speed six reliability

You got to let the engine breath , i have been told in the past that when running in a little blat up the rev range is quite good for the rngine ? dunno any one else been told that or is it urban myth

Nubbin, don't worry about it! The handbook actually states that (when the engine's warm) you're only "limited to 3500rpm for the first 250 miles. After that it says to slowly build up the revs until full power is achieved."
Just get those first 1000 miles done soon!
Cheers....... Andrew

No insult intended at all! I just don't like the look of the Tamora. The mechanical spec is perfect, I just wish TVR would re-visit the styling.

I felt the same Alex....until I saw one in the flesh and drove one. Now I love it.

Maybe if you gave it a chance it would grow on you, we should be congratulating TVR on building a car like this, not slagging them off....

I think the problem for the Tamora is that its following - replacing the Griffith one of the all time Babes of the motoring world, for myself i normally never like a car that replaces a favourite car i even prefered the 355 to the 360 Ferrari, but as you get used to the shape it will probably grow on you.

You have a point Marki. I adored the Griff and still do. For me it is the all-time great TVR. But, times change and driving the Tamora makes you realise how much. Me and friend were blatting along a country lane on Sunday and he said to me " My God! Your Griffith used to be all over the place along this road, but this car is handling like an Imprezza rally car compared to the Griff!!!"

It is so different to any other TVR you just can't beleive it. Try one if you can and I think you will start to see it in a different light.

Hi Flasher
Yes i am sure it is a massive improvment over the Griff , and like you say until you see one in the flesh its hard to say if you like it or not, i dont have a dealer with in 3-400 miles of me , in fact dont have a clue where the nearest is , possibley Hamberg 4 hours away so , i may well go and waste a dealers time when i am next back in England .

I'll second that, Flasher! It's just a glued-to-the-road roller skate, with ridiculously effortless acceleration. I love it!

Flasher, are you in Nottingham Friday lunchtime? I'm coming down to see Macca, hopefully if there's a break in the wet weather, we'll try to get some high definition photos. If you're available, e-mail me.

I am in Nottingham on Friday. However, I only get a 1/2 hour lunch from the office on a Friday as I finish at 4pm and I would get tremendous grief if I stayed out any longer. It's pretty hard to sneak back into our car park in bright yellow TVR!!!!

We are planning a Sunday drive to the Cotswolds for lunch with the local TVRCC, with a Cerb owning couple who are staying with us and possibly another couple in a limited edition Griff and I have asked Andy (GB1360) if he fancies it too!! Can you imagine what a stir THREE Tamora's would cause?

Sounds like a merry jaunt, Andy, but I've got the kids this weekend, otherwise I'd be down there! I can't cram both of them into the passenger seat. We ought to wait until the better weather appears i.e anything not involving rain, and get together for a Tamora-fest. How about waiting until Nick gets his, and then we'll have a meet at Donington, or something?

BTW I'm popping in to Joospeed on the way down. Jules wants to check out a Tamora, as he's never seen one.
