Where do dealers get their SAG numbers from ?

98 Sags in the UK registered and SORN'ed
So why does "How Many Left " show 169 ????
https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/tvr_sagaris
Are they trying to hike the prices ???
Common sense would tell you 100 cars just don't disappear

Howmanyleft.com is very inaccurate
https://www.carlogbook.co.uk/tvr/sagaris/ is usually better
And STR8SIX I would suspect know better than anyone - I doubt they are lying
Have you any evidence that Howmanyleft is VERY inaccurate ... I find it reasonably goodhttps://www.carlogbook.co.uk/tvr/sagaris/ is usually better
And STR8SIX I would suspect know better than anyone - I doubt they are lying
I reckon 211 Sags were built , so 113 are have some crap drivers and have written then off, they fall apart or they've been exported.
carlogbook only appears to state those on the road and doesn't include SORN , and it still says 123.
I'm not saying they are lying , just inaccurate.

They're measuring different things. CarLogBook is cars with a valid MOT. If it doesn't need an MOT, the car won't show.
HowManyLeft is cars taxed (and sorned), during the previous quarter (and actually, several months after that).
If a car is SORN'd or written off, CarLogBook data won't change until it's MOT expires, and most of the seasonally SORN'd cars will still have a valid MOT.
I suspect STR8IX have accidentally used the non-SORNed figure from Q2 last year, which was actually 98...
But they've not only used it once but twice in this sale aswell !!! https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11437228HowManyLeft is cars taxed (and sorned), during the previous quarter (and actually, several months after that).

Hardly surprising. "Oh look - another Sagaris. Now, where's the ad I wrote last week...?"
But would common sense not make you think ??? Where did all those other cars go???? After all he says there were over 200 in 2006 ....Otherwise it's a bad recommendation for TVR servicing

The only bit that's wrong is the inclusion of "or SORNed".
From Howmanyleft, I'd say of the ~200 UK registered...
Not quite the only thing ... quoteFrom Howmanyleft, I'd say of the ~200 UK registered...
- ~80 are in taxed/used all year round.
- ~20 are taxed for the summer only, and SORN'd in winter.
- ~30 have been scrapped/exported.
- ~70 are SORN'd all year round. That's a lot laid up in garages!
"Those who follow these things will know that the number of TVR Sagaris - Road-registered or SORN’d in the UK - has reduced from 200 plus cars in 2006...........to 98 last year! These stunning TVR Supercars are getting ever rarer – and therefore more collectable!"
and
"TVR built just over 200 TVR Sagaris. The number registered or SORN’d in the UK is now under 100. Special examples of these works of automotive art are potential future heirlooms or very affordable supercars – actually they’re both!"
The figures are being used as selling points not just an off the cuff reference.... Especially for those that follow these things

2005/6 T350Ts, only 8 to 10 cars made.
These are actually the rarest late model TVRs, by some margin.
Followed,by the wavy dash Tuscan Convertibles, 24 ?
All Tuscan Convertibles have wavey dashboards. The think you mean Tuscan 2 Targas post jan'06.These are actually the rarest late model TVRs, by some margin.

T350s were made from 2002 and production stopped in 2005 (except 1 special for Nikolai in 2006), so I'm suprised about T350T , you're correct there weren't many but I don't know the number but with 460 T350s in total I would have thought more.

Ben Lang has 460 T350s.
But,I can only find evidence of a maximum of 84 registered/ sorned T350Ts .Some would be exported from new?So, on top of the 84?
Ben Lang says 46, 2005/6 T350s.Assuming similar percentage Targas, only 9 or 10 cars.
Even if all were Targa's which seems very unlikely,a 2005/6 Targa is much rarer than a Sagaris.
I don't think you can just be selective on a particular year ... A 2003 Chim would be even rarer But,I can only find evidence of a maximum of 84 registered/ sorned T350Ts .Some would be exported from new?So, on top of the 84?

Also from DVLA SORN data.
Surprisingly the sum of Registered + SORN equals 169 Sag's in the UK. More than I expected
Probably plus a few more from the 1981 (1210+771) cars in the "Model Missing" category ... Government sites are nearly as bad as TVR at numbers Surprisingly the sum of Registered + SORN equals 169 Sag's in the UK. More than I expected
I like the reference to the Cuckoo that joined the nest

So,there are approximately 70 T350Ts, registered and/ or sorned , against 169 Sagaris?
But is a T350T a different model than a T350C ? If it is, then is a Tuscan Convertible S , a different model than a Tuscan Convertible non S ? of course a Tuscan Convertible is a Tuscan Convertible and is definitely not a Tuscan MK2 Targa (either Wavey or Baboons Bum Dash) and where does a Chimaera MK3 sit in the numbers game ... plus "The white elephant" and Tina and T440s and Typhons and etc. etc.and Yes I was at Chatsworth ... STR8SIX supercharged Sag was there too IIRC
And the Sagaris wasn't TVRs last model , the Tuscan Convertible was !!! and as described by James May with Jackie Stewart ...TVRs Swan Song .

Look at the "missing" cars by year of manufacture. There's around a dozen in 2002/2003, but the rest are all 1993 or earlier.
https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/tvr_missing#...
But if you look at 1st registered Sags https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/tvr_sagaris#...https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/tvr_missing#...
The total comes to 214 .... which is close to Bens figure , because he included those that had build numbers allocated and not necessarily completed .
And that doesn't include any cars exported ... if any
But my original point , we all must agree there are far more than 98 Sags in existence
