I'm now wondering how many AMs there will be in the car park! I'm sure the majority attending will be engineering enthusiasts but I'm trying to gauge what technical level it will be at or whether I'm not going to understand a thing!
The talks vary from exceedingly technical on things like DPF filters and emissions to general non techy & high level overview ones such as (hopefully)this one.For example previous talks were Peter Stevens, designer of the McLaren F1 and Lotus Esprit on design influences and another on the current Bentleys.
I avoid the techy ones

Well we found out that Aston Martin read Pistonheads as this thread was mentioned by Ian
Great to see and hear so much passion for the brand, I enjoyed the talk and had a brief chat with Ian in the intermission, so thanks to Ian, Aston Martin & IMechE for the evening.
Wish i'd gone now, I just have a bit of an allergy to the M25 at the time it was on!Great to see and hear so much passion for the brand, I enjoyed the talk and had a brief chat with Ian in the intermission, so thanks to Ian, Aston Martin & IMechE for the evening.
Was there a One-77 lurking around?
I've been to many an IMechE lecture in Essex before (IMechE Chartered Engineer, doncha know), they really are good. There was one a couple of years ago on Aston exhaust tuning, bloody amazing level of detail they go into to tune the exhaust sound for each model.
Gutted I've missed this one.

I shall repeat my previous posting elsewhere - I have NEVER used cruise control. I find it useless. If I were given a choice of options to transfer to standard, it probably wouldn't make the list.
If you use it, fair enough, I just think it's the antithesis of engagement with the car, especially in a manual one
