Is anyone here going to the Big 5 event on Spa Francorchamps this Monday? (September 17)
If so, come say hi to the big bald guy with the red V12 Vantage :-)

I was invited by Petra Fiermann (Marketing Manager of AM Europe) to come take pics and write a report for my Aston blog.

This is one trip that I plan to do with my soon to arrive DBS. Pictures will of course be posted when I collect the car next week and work out how to up,oaf a photo.
Meantime can those of you going help me regarding insurance for this trip. Locktons (Amoc) and A plan tell me that track days outside the uk are no longer covered. Have any of you taken out specific cover for the day?

Did I mention I was going to SPA ?

I have 2 video camera's mounted and the trackmaster app for the day, so I am hopeful the pictures will say it all. When I took out Locktons I insisted that it did cover the SPA event or I would not take it, so they capitulated but increased the 10% to 20% of value as an excess. TonyV12V and his Norfolk charm did not have as much luck, so hopefully he will be along and let you know what he did.

Had same issue even though John (g39) and Richard (CatalystV12V) ARE covered ????????????????????

Long story short - I was very disappointed with Locktons (Chubb policy). I have even been in contact with the right people at AM who organise the events and they were as confounded as me. But on THEIR recommendation I went to RYAN Motorsport Insurance www.ryanmi.com - THIS IS NOT AN AD - who I found to be VERY helpful (policy underwritten by Hiscox) and they dealt with my enquiry within 24 hours and were extremely easy to deal with and were more than happy to take my money!!

My wife and I will be driving to Belgium (from Amsterdam) today. Staying in Stavelot for the weekend, close to Spa.
