Bob, I am not 100% certain about what car I will have by then - will non Astons be welcomed?
A non Aston Adam,,,unthinkable,,,This is a tricky one. However, as you are aware we have in the past included one or two other marques where it has helped fill the required number of places. It may well be the case again this time, so by all means watch this space and lets see how the entry list progresses.
Bob, can you clarify the situation regarding insurance please as it is a long time since I did a track day.
Presumably comprehensive cover is up to the individual and what their insurance company will offer. Assuming you don't have any track day cover in your road policy, then is third party liability insurance provided by the circuit or do individuals have to arrange their own cover?

Yes Peter, insurance is the responsibility of each owner driver, the circuit operators do not provide cover. I am with Locktons simply because their policy covers me for Track Days.Presumably comprehensive cover is up to the individual and what their insurance company will offer. I'm not trying to be awkward or anything and I do want to attend this event but I'd just like to be clear about the risks.

So is it a requirement of attendance that all drivers produce evidence of comprehensive track cover or third party track cover? Or is it up to the individual in that you could take the risk and be on track without any insurance - clearly this is a risk for others as well as that individual.

It is not a requirement to produce evidence of insurance cover but it is a matter of responsibility to ensure for everyone's sake that each owner has adequate Track Day insurance for their car. OK thanks. If I can't get it with my insurer (Aviva) can anyone recommend anywhere I can get cover just for the day please?V8V Pete said:

By all means enquire for specialist one day cover,,,,but I'm pretty sure you'll find the premiums are prohibitive,,,,its why I changed from Admiral to Locktons, the Locktons policy provides automatic Track Day cover. Y100 said:

FYI, but you won't find 3rd party track insurance. All track insurance is 1st party only. Competition Car Insurance (www.competition-car-insurance.co.uk/products2.asp) offer day policies. But it's not cheap.
(Silly) people can wrap their cars on track days (but usually just get their axles muddy and get even redder faced!) and I have never ever seen a shunt between two cars in 20+ trackdays in other cars. Its up to the driver to create their safety space and if you don't like someone's driving give them a very wide berth and let them pass (or leave them in your dust ).
I did 12 laps here (just to finish off the Bridgestones ):
That Locktons policy is great (and says leagues about the track day claims they dont get...) and they just bumped me an extra 700 miles gratis as I'd exceeded my 5000 annual allowance. I still don't think I have a track day car (and ooohh my new expensive rubber) but will pop along for a couple of laps and a good old chinwag!
