DBS Superleggera
Discussion
Popped in to my local (ish) AM MD last Friday just for a nose, and sitting there was a dark grey, almost black DBS Superleggera.... This is the first car I have seen, in the flesh, for many years, that has truly taken my breath away and made the hairs on the back of my neck tingle... In fact I think the last time was in 2006 when I first saw a new Vantage parked up at a farm shop just outside York. I know such things are subjective, but oh my God, it gave the word stunning a whole new meaning, in fact, I don't think the English language has words that are sufficiently adequate to describe it..
Couldn't agree more. I popped into AM Works last weekend and they have a DBS Superleggera in (I think) Diavolo Red. It is stunning and truly impressive to look at. And the sound...wow! Even my wife, who's been dragged into more fancy car showrooms than she'd care to remember, was really quite taken with it. I've long been a Ferrari V12 fan and owner, but the Superleggera is far more desirable than anything they can offer at the moment or indeed from the past 10 years. It's now top of my wish list!

Sounds stunning Bacon, where are the pictures?
Only took one I'm afraid, just as we were leaving..... really doesn't do it justice though...... Oh, and that's Red 10 in the showroom just to the right Edited to add, the presence the car has just doesn't come alive in the photo, I felt I'd just met Optimus Prime

to my eyes, a DBS SL looks best without the contrast roof and roof rails
I hadn't realised the SL analogy with Mercedes-Benz. Superleggera/SportlichLeicht.Nothing lightweight about either MB or Aston GT's these days!
The one in the wild looks nice though.
Too big for me (size and pricewise) but it is a nice super GT. I prefer small body/big engine.

Might the registration mark be a homage to Dr. Urich Bez?
You may recall, that we can thank him for stopping the Vantage having a mid engine.
Front-mid is just fine for me. 49:51 balance, plus decent luggage space, which is an aspect that mid-engine cars usually struggle with.

I think the DBS superleggera is stunning in photos, I cannot wait to see one for real, as I feel I will have much the same response...Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
