What ramps are folk using. Clearly a shallow angle of approach is preferred. Thx

^^^ This!

Let's you do all manner of things. Great access, relatively easy to use, doesn't take much space to store when not in use.

5000SLX worked well on my DB9, now used for 2016 Vanquish and Tesla Model Y (sideways!)

If your looking to do anything that requires the removal of the belly pans i don't think it would work very well.
Also some maintenance requires the front wheels to come off along with the wheel arch liners.
Plus the front belly pan is very long... I did a lot of research on this and i ended up with the Quickjacks.

You could always add some axle stands after the ramps are raised as “belt and braces”

It's hard to see in the picture but the raised position isn't being supported by the hydraulic rams. There are safety arms that lock into a welded tab on the base. I suppose it's always possible for that weld to fail but no more likely I would think than a jack stand failing.

The Quickjack has mechanical lock positions at two different heights, so you're not relying on hydraulic pressure to hold it up.

And I always place axle stands under the Quickjack just to cover all bases.

One way to look at the Quickjack pricing is that if your a DIY'er of some amount,
the purchase of the Quickjacks plus the costs of the maintenance supplies would probably be less than one 24 month maintenance service at the AM dealer.
For me I consider my new DB9 to be a keeper so it was a pretty easy decision, as such i'm not worried about dealer stamps for resale purpose.
I just completed 12, 24 month thru to 5 year maintenance on mine in one go with these, worked great.

I was looking at the Quick Jack down at Gaydon when the AM day was on this is what the HWM travelling mechanic uses spoke to the guy he was very happy with them.

I can feel an impact to my bank balance very soon.

One question that I would like to ask is can the Quick Jack be left under the car when not in use?.

Yes. I leave mine fully lowered and the two sides pushed together in the center of the parking spot, so I can drive the car into the space to straddle the Quickjacks.

This lift will raise the car to 1m. I use axle stands on the ramps to go higher. Excellent bit off kit and very safe. Cost around £2.5k. If you need any more info let me know. Regards Craig

The rear axle stands are close to the orange coloured metal uprights, but the forward axle stands are some distance away from the vertical supports. Presume everything is safe, but I am imagining bending forces being present.
