V8 Vantage Clutch Replacement!

Any one had any problems with V8 Clutch's? My 2006 17,000 mile car had 1'st
replaced @ 10,000 miles under warranty it's now in for a service and told it needs another clutch! But it will not be coverd under warranty!They say it is normal were! In 7,000 miles? Sounds there is more to this,any one come across this before? any ideas?

Not what I want to hear, I have been concerned about my clutch and the wear rate with the smells it gives off when reversing. Mine is OK so far 13,000 miles, in for a 2 year service next week I will ask them to report on how the clutch is wearing.
I have similar concerns. However as I mentioned the smell and concern over alignment at the outset I will be expecting them to cover the cost if it doesn't last at least 20k miles.I've run V8's and manual DB9's and the clutches all seemed to last approx 10 - 12k, if its any consulation my Ford GT did not make 10k and early Gallardo's you were lucky to hit 4-5k, laters ones seem to be much better but still around 12k, and F430's are about the same to.
The most annoying part of the Astons is the removal of the torque tube to get to the clutch which seems to make this a rather expensive repair.
This is a trait of all supercars but I've always been impressed with the M Powered Beemers where even after a hard life the clutches go beyond 30k.
Lucky you don't run a Murcie, as the clutch release bearing is nearly a £1,000 in its self.

to Aston's customer service Dept and they say the will come back with a answer on monday The main dealer are at least on my side,so fingers crossed!

Probably best I keep quiet to the Ferrari boys about service costs then! Clutch on the 355 was under 800 quid so the savings on 10k services are soon going to be eroded.
Will see how long mine lasts, but I've never been convinced the smells I get from it, or some of the graunching/grumbling from low speed take off are right.

Mine has always made a smell from day one when reversing - just took it to be normal. What type of pong should I be looking out for, my car has done 13,400 miles? Not experiencing any grumbles at low speed yet. First time I have owned this kind of car. Had an M3 prior to my V8 which I sold with 48,000 on the clock having never changed the clutch - it got a good hammering - was very impressed with the wear.
My clutch gave up the ghost after about 2K miles! Aston said it was a manufacturing fault, and it was taken care of under warranty. I've now done over 12K miles, and touch wood, no further issues... I was rather hoping the clutch would last at least 30K miles (it's a manual V8 Vantage) - but that now seems optimistic judging by the posts on this thread 
Aston customer service came back to me today! Guess what, the clutch is not covered under warranty!
They inform me 10,000 miles is quite acceptable for clutch replacement..!! So my car has now covered
17,000 miles and on it,s 3rd CLUTCH..!! Not even a contribution..!! so if you do average miles per
year every service you will need a CLUTCH..!! This is my 1st Aston,had many 911's mainly Turbo's and BMW Ms and they certainly don't eat clutch's every 10K..?
