My car did not come with carpet mats so Ive just been looking into buying some suitable ones for it.The official Aston ones are nearly £300 per set which to me seems an horrendous ammount for 2 bits of carpet.Does anyone have any recommendations for cheaper alternatives or will I be best off biting the bullet and getting the offical Aston items??

The "carpets" it comes with are only really like mats.

I'd keep with the standard ones and just replace them when they wear out (or rather, that's exactly what I am doing!).

It does seem as though the existing factory fitted carpets will come out quite easily however if the carpet mats are £300 then I wonder what the cost of replacing the factory fitted items would be!?

I'd be interested to know what you think of them when they arrive.

The mats finally arrived today after 3 chase up phone calls...

To be honest Im a bit disappointed with them. They dont fit particually well(they are too short to cover the carpet underneath so look a bit odd unless the seats are moved forward a bit),and qualitywise are on a par with mats I pay £20 per set of 4 for my used car business.

When I went to Stratstone AM Wilmslow the other day they are doing mats('Stratstone' ones not genuine AM) for £75 per set so I may buy a set of these as well.

I've just been talking with Nicholas from the Vantage collection about a set for my V8V and I like the options he has given me.

If I for them I'll let you know what I think.

I got a set of the "official" AM mats at no charge (which makes them great value smile) when I got my car. They're nice, but no better than that, but they should preserve the original carpets. I don't know the US price, but I doubt I'd pay a significant premium for them.

I got a set of these for my V8V:-

http://www.cargraphic.co.uk/index.php?/s,6,7,9,232...

They are not exactly cheap (GBP250) and the carpet is slightly off the quality used in the origunal AM spec but they are a good fit, have the logo and look the part.

Only available in black.

Yep got them as well with the logo on, slightly too long (1-2cm) but are the same shape as the Aston fitted carpets. They do take a while to arrive though, come from Germany via a UK Porsche distributor. Look good when fitted

ASTON ANNIE.

Can you advise me whether the backing on the back of the rugs is a sort of black rubbery compound or a sort of sponge ?

Thanks.
