Watches and Aston Martins - maybe the best of both worlds

March would be ok if we flew. And then I could go back via Barcelona and watch F1 testing
I envisaged that the drive would be a big part of the event April (the later the better) would be best as the snow will probably have cleared by then. Of course people can fly if their schedule doesn't permit a three day trip, but perhaps a Thursday or Friday start may make it possible for many to drive.Edited by v8woollie on Monday 24th September 14:02

I'm sure. But how utterly pointless, given the chance of a journey which defines the reason to own an Aston Martin, to cross a continent on a grand tour with a group of like-minded individuals. But you'd rather get a cheap flight with jet..? Really??

Some bits of the drive would be great, through the Alps etc. I'd get bored of driving on the motorways to get to Switzerland very quickly though, so yes I'd rather get a flight. Or ideally fly my car to all the good driving roads and skip out the dull long bits in between! But you'd rather get a cheap flight with jet..? Really??

I know a MUCH better route than that M'Way to Reims, then the old Dijon Road, then through the Jura mountains... the Route de La Faucille...
There are some fab places to stay/eat around Beaune which is on the way and of course Champagne is en route too. Plenty of good driving roads round there
Plus of course whilst it's a long detour, going East from Geneva afterwards, along the beautiful scenic route of the Northern shore of Lake Geneva, takes you straight to the Alps ! (I can sense a 1 week trip coming on........)

Oh, I love it when you keep us in suspense Georgeous !!
Will he?...Won't he?
I wait with bated breath for you to confirm that you will not be going
More to do with time off work, going to be very busy in new year with Trent 700 Mk4 project. Driving would mean 2 days there and 2 days back. Plus a day at the JLC factory. 5 days might be too much time off. Will he?...Won't he?

Book some leave now. Surely RR could do without you for a well earned break
I'm on holiday now! Sat in a hotel in Singapore at the moment, flying to KL in the morning and back on Friday morning. I'm a contractor not an employee so I can't just book time off the same and will depend on what workload we have on at the time (hence why I won't know exactly until closer to the time) jonby said:

This is all taking shape very nicely
At that time of year we'll have to stay quite low though, probably 1500m or so maxiumum.

Get off M'Way before St Quentin. D1044 from St Quentin, skirt round Laon (but worth a stop in itself) to Reims . Chance to stretch the legs of the Aston (may have done this on the bike) away from the motorway with no police.M'Way to Reims, then the old Dijon Road, then through the Jura mountains... the Route de La Faucille...

could be a great continental christening for the V12VR though - I'd planned to do that with a trip to the motorshow.....
