Jag F type v V8 Vantage

Having previously owned a V8V and contributed to this forum in the past, I still read the forum and threads with interest, as I know I will be an Aston owner once more.
What I have seen over the past few years is a change in the quality of posts by those that can now afford to buy a used Aston for £30K as opposed to the normal lowered hot hatch with tinted windows, fake exhaust being driven by a midget in a baseball cap.
Maybe there should be a second Aston forum based on level of intelligence.
Just saying......

Au contraire mon ami.
Some people ,myself included , have the opinion that it makes financial sense to let others take the first large hit when purchasing a motor car.
A three year old Aston is approx. 40 to 50% less than a new car.
You do yourself no favours coming on this forum and making derogatory remarks about other forum contributors.
If you do not enjoy the sometimes childish but amusing banter here go on the AMOC forum .
I am an AMOC member but frankly find the forum can be a little staid at times.
My opinions are based on observations with a tongue in cheek analogy that I consider to be a bit of childish banter.
No offence intended to any individual.
There is however a correlation between emotional intelligence (EQ) and wealth as many studies have found.
I was a member of the AMOC but only to get a factory tour.
The Jag F Type is very good, but the Aston has soul.
No offence intended to any individual.

Is that the correlation that states the more wealth one has the more obnoxious and up oneself one is?
(EQABCXYZ).
No offence intended to any individual , no changed my mind offence intended.

My post was tongue in cheek in a misguided attempt to add to the banter and has clearly offended you, I apologise and retract all my statements, life is too short.
RIP Allan Simonsen
Dear AMD1RIP Allan Simonsen
No offence taken by me.
I just enjoy the verbal fisticuffs.
A little self indulgent I know.
It can be quite difficult to express irony and satire in print when one is an unknown quantity.
People can get the wrong end of the stick not realising one is just avinalarf.

My sentiments exactly. Let's move on to a new and exciting topic. No offence taken by me.

Can you read the messages and also the response Yeti gave me? I was having difficulties to believe that somebody can be insulted only for the cars he/she has and, given some behaviour of supercars owner (not only Aston) I thought that, at least in some cases, those insults might have been deserved. There was also a post from N7GTX regarding also Honda Jazz driver
Riccardino, I have only just caught up with this thread which has gone downhill it would seem. It has drifted off track several times.I am not sure how you have viewed my comment on Honda Jazz drivers? Hopefully, you have realised it was just a jest on the stereotypical elderly Jazz driver with no malice intended to anyone.
I am only an unwealthy, uneducated mechanic who only dreams of owning a nice new AM (anyone will do, love 'em all) but this will never happen now. So, I must put up with my Jag-in-Drag (as eloquently stated many times by a much wealthier and intelligent(?) AM owner on here and elsewhere) for the time being. As the car is only worth the equivalent of a Mondeo I am unlikely to be accepted as a full blown member of the 'club' and clearly have little to offer.
I have loved and cherished AM since I was a sprog. That is well before James Bond by the way. When you are
7 years old and your dad tells you that AMs are the best car in the world then you believe him absolutely. And for the last 54 years I have. So, when I see comments from owners who decry other AMs, or their owners or would be owners, I get mightily upset. And this is the problem for me: they claim to be afficionados but in reality they use their AM as provenance of their wealth and influence.
So Riccardino, you are not even an owner of an AM and, therefore, you cannot possibly be accepted by the 'club'. You cannot post pictures of your shiny new car and wait for all the flattering, gushing responses. If you cannot see this then you will just bash your head against a brick wall for evermore.

Hilarious - what a funny and insulting post.
Do you judge the wealth and intelligence of motorists, by the car you see them driving?
Well, that would make me both 'thick' and poor in my daily driver, but wealthy and intelligent when in my (over £30K, your limit) Aston Martin.
Do be careful if you see someone driving a twenty year old Volvo. Two well known self made men have owned such cars, both of whom are amongst the very wealthiest in the world. They clearly are not at all concerned about impressing AMD1.
Would we have to pass examinations to be allowed to continue in AM Upper, but disgraced and demoted to AM Lower, in the event of failure?

Might there also be a correlation between lack of intelligence (IQ) and joining AMOC, 'only to get a factory tour'?I was a member of the AMOC but only to get a factory tour.
You do not need to join AMOC, to have a Gaydon factory tour.

Thought this thread was about discussing the relevant merits of an F Type and a Vantage?
What the hell has driving your car and as a result being deemed to be showing off got to do with anything.
Things are all relevant and applying logic.....to the homeless a Jazz driver has provenance and therefore must be displaying wealth, to the mechanics apprentice the mechanic is top dog.
Each time I take my DBS out I am not trying to display any wealth and I would say that this is the same for all of the other AM owners. We all work damn hard to run these things and are privileged to be able to do so. We certainly do not appreciate any sort of warrior keyboard hate incitement taking part on what is an AM forum for OWNERS of the AM marque.
If anyone doesn't like it and doesn't feel part of the 'club' it really is quite simple, either get an AM or troll another forum. May I respectfully suggest that they do the latter.

So, as we are comparing aston v jags (somthing which has been done by the motoring press ever since they decided to compare cars, what do we reckon?
2litre. SS100
Db2/4. Xk range
DBR1 D-type
Db4/5. Etype
DBS V8. V12. E-type
V8 Vantage and XJS
Virage and XJR-S
DB7 and XK8
DB7 Vantage and XKR
V8 vantage and XKR
Rapide and XJ
V8 Vantage and F-type
With the exception of first and last, I have seen/read comparisons of all those cars. They always will be compared. Personally, I'm glad such cars exist. That they are developed and built in Britain adds so much too.
