Here's mine. Its Ultramarine black. So far very pleased with it. Drives extremely well.

How on earth did you manage to take a photo in January in the UK that looks like an evening of a summer holiday?

Thanks.
If you insist. biggrin

Its so easy to drive, it really is a pleasure. I've previously owned a V8, V12 and V12S manual decatted. They're all great cars and I miss them, but the new Vantage is highly underrated imo and is best summed up as just great fun to drive. I could write a page of minor criticisms of the things I think could have been done better, but its all been said before, but the point is the actual driving experience is great. Theres no doubt its most impressive feature is when driving on full chat, it effortlessly changes through the gears with a fantastically satisfying 'bang' between changes that sounds immense, you have to experience it to believe it. It feels as fast as the V12 because of the gearbox. The person who designed the exhaust should be given a medal. Is this car a keeper? scratchchin no, but I'll enjoy it while I have it. biggrin

Some beautiful looking cars there, well done fella's and fellher!

I'm giving some thought to having to roof wrapped black. I saw a few examples at Autosport, a black gloss wrap looked the real deal with XPEL on top.

I'm fairly sure I put a cheeky bid in for that car at Hatfield but they weren't prepared to do a deal at the time. I could be wrong, does it have Orange calipers?

If you mean my Lightening Silver car then no, it has black calipers.

Had a good drive today af ew thoughts. The engine is very tight and young so taking my time. Its loud of tickover, not as loud as I expected on rev's.

It has a incredible refined ride, so much more than a F-Type R I had in 2018. Steering is very quick not that much feedback thought. It feels far more planted than F-Type also.

It actually does feel very special, in a refined engineering way, can't say it feels like an Aston yet, but I'm letting engine run in with care.

Hi all

Been watching this thread from afar and decided to sign up finally.

I was close to taking the deal, but ummed and arred over it, and now it looks like I (may?) have done the right thing given what has come out in the news lately about AM's cashflow crisis.

I'd be interested to know if anyone can confirm what was discussed a few pages back -- i.e. that the finance is ringfenced to the lender and it'll be them who suffer if AM go under.

Worst case scenario is that AM go under and the value ("equity") dives into negative figures, but don't think that'll affect anyone already on the PCP deal will it?

Pretty sure all the deals were of the " hand it back at the end " sort

Not at the moment as most dealers cleared their inventory into year end, if new inventory doesn’t sell then they might have to offer discounts again at quarter end.
I did ask my local dealer on behalf of a mate, no discounts, £30,000 deposit required.

Who is going to buy a Vantage now that this deal has ended? Now that they have set the new precedent they will have to bring that pricing back if they want to shift them.

I know no more than you, phatwaj, but I can attempt a guess.
Now being a public company, AMLGH wanted the best sales numbers for the 2019 financial year end.
Judging by this forum, the £1,000 PCP scheme in December was hugely successful.
The DBX orders now look very good, so that should give an uplift to 2020 sales numbers, without 'giving away' Vantages.

I might be completely wrong though. What do you think ?

It will be interesting - I guess the majority of buyers will not be aware of this offer, so won’t have the value reference? Either way, the future values of these cars is going to take a beating as the deals unwind so it makes no sense for the informed buyer to pay more then previous offer

I suspect many potential buyers will know about this deal, and if they don't then they're going to be mightily pissed off when they do find out. I can't understand what AM is playing at by only offering it for a short period, my assumption is that it will return shortly.

Is there a source on the DBX selling well btw? I want it to, as I want AM to survive, but it just seems like a overpriced Qashqai to me.

So, you missed out on the cracking Vantage 2 year deal because you thought AML were going pop and now you think the DBX looks like a Nissan 😂😂😂😂

The initial order book for the DBX is very strong (as are the reviews). Of course the key will be to keep that going over a multi-year period.

On the Vantage, as discussed earlier, AMLs plan is to simply produce fewer of them and make them rarer in the dealerships - you want one you have to order it- kind of model (like Ferrari). Will be interesting to see if it works; if it does it bodes well for residuals. But again remains to be seen how successful this is

As above, I expect lots of buyers don’t keep updated with forums so they will be unaware of the great deal that was on offer.

Either way current used prices have taken a bit of a hit in the last couple of months but it should level out come April when the sports car season begins again. An example is one of my clients has a 14 month old Vantage (we did not get involved with the funding or purchase) that he wanted to sell due to lack of use and the bids from a couple of trade buyers were embarrassing, worse he somehow has a three figure settlement to pay.

As most people finance cars the GFV will be the key to affordability, if this sinks, so do sales.

Only need 4,000 people around the world each year, to like, buy and create success.
Probably not a huge number, compared to some competitors.

I know it's sacrilegious to display even a tiny hint of negativity towards AM on here and it's what has put me off from signing up (likewise the constant whinging about the new Vantage is equally tedious). I love the Vantage, and want one, but the DBX is completely lost on me. Pricing, styling, everything. I understand that the Bentayga and similar are aimed at Chinese buyers, so perhaps the DBX will do well there. I hope it does, but that doesn't mean I have to agree it's a good looking car.
