The Proper Colour for an Aston thread - silver, greys, black

The facinating thing about this combo is, that the two cars are almost exactly 50 years apart. The DB4 Series III left Newport Pagnel in April 1961. At that time is was one of the fastest road-going cars in the world. Quite impressive. Despite the fact that this particular one (all matching numbers) has been upgraded by Richard Williams to a 4.7 liter engine lately and drives (and brakes) better than when it left the factory 50 years ago it is still a mighty impressive and fun car to drive in today's world. There is obviously no power steering and no aircon so it is quite a physical excercise to drive it fast on bendy roads and the sound is pure Aston.
That is stunning Edited by clorenzen on Thursday 1st March 17:03

More people should have a fern green car like tony.......
Undoubtedly Tonys Fern green DB9 is a lovely colour Francis, and always impeccably clean, but of all the colours that you get to work with, which one in your personal opinion has the greatest finish and impact once you have detailed it.Sorry, tonys car isnt fern green really, but i know it winds him up being called that lol. His car came up really well after being detailed actually.
Hmmm, the best colour.....thats a tough one. The difference a detail car make to some cars can be huge, but that aside, i think onyx/storm black is up there and there is a blue, similar to audi sprint blue that looks amazing in the sun too. The thing i like about astons, is that when the sun comes out and if the the car has been machine polished, almost any colour looks stunning. Just wished that the factory and the dealers knew how to prep a car to look how they should do. I know in the dealer network, its all about time, but ive seen a car having a sealant, which the client paid near £700 for applied and large section on the rear 3/4 had big DA sanding marks in it and nothing was done about it.
Ferrari's are just as bad, if not worse when it comes to the condition of new cars. When someone is spending well over 100k or more, they should employ someone whos job it would be to prep the car to look how it should look. I appreciate that they wouldnt use expensive waxes on all the cars like i do, but removing the sanding marks and swirls should be the least they could do.
Still, if dealers where not as they are, i would have less work prepping cars for their new owners. And yes, that goes for brand new cars too. I could easily spend 2-3 days prepping a new car straight from the factory.
Sorry, that was a bit of a rant.
My favorite colours are black, morning frost and that electric blue colour (will try and remember the name) However, the greys ooze class.

Wobbly's twin - but with new shoes on Titanium Silver, with black interior and full piano black facia
Before that were two Vantages - both meteorite but one had a cherry red interior and the second one was black.
Note to self - make sure the next one isn't black/grey/silver
Well, must have forgotten about that note. Here's another couple of pictures of our gorgeous V12VRBefore that were two Vantages - both meteorite but one had a cherry red interior and the second one was black.
Note to self - make sure the next one isn't black/grey/silver
