I guess you could sell the old manifolds, exhaust and muffler to get some money back from the significant outlay for the Performance Pack?
where would demand for this come from?

From V12 Vantage owners wanting to upgrade to the V12VS exhaust which AML said is new to this model and derived from the One-77.
Well, astonmartinbits are selling manifolds and exhausts online so they might be interested?

I enquired recently about the package and was told it included the following:

Full Performance pack including Magnesium Headers [Manifolds], removal of catalysts, installation of titanium exhaust unit. New tail pipes and the installation of the Carbon Fibre rear diffusor blade. Supplied and installed. I am afraid I have no pictures.

The cost cost is eye watering. I am not going ahead with it as can't justify the cost. However, mine goes in for service next week and gets the secondary cats removed and looking forward to hearing the enhanced sound track at a much more reasonable cost. smile

Here's finally a picture of the diffuser which comes with the Performance Pack. They didn't change much did they? I see the lower blade which was previously coloured is now carbon with a few fins added. Because it's carbon it looks a bit massive now. I thought the tail pipes would be central hence the need for a new diffuser but they seem to have kept the existing exhaust finishers. Anyone on here has more info?

Here's what I posted earlier. Only visual difference is the lower diffuser which is replaced by a carbon item. Most of the changes are hidden.

Interesting. Someone I know who has just got a V12VSR manual has been told he can have the PP fitted.

Will update...

My Dad's booked his MY16 V12S in for this along with upgrading to the AMi III infotainment upgrade in early June. Dealership was offering £500 off the performance pack if booked in before the end of the month, and ended up agreeing on a price quite a bit below list for doing both upgrades.

Will try to get some before and after photos/video, although his car is Ultramarine Black so the diffuser blade change might be a bit subtle.

Picked it up today after the conversion, definitely a lot louder and more aggressive sounding!

Didn't get a great recording of it, but short clip here: https://youtu.be/LRfkkhoLgg0

Also had the AMi III upgrade done from the MY16 AMi II system, updated sat-nav is much easier to use.

Only thing I would say, it's a shame the intake manifolds don't have "Aston Martin" lettering on them anymore.

Hmm, Yeah that is a bit disappointing in the looks department. Bear in mind that the MY17 cars don't even have the Aston wings on the central engine cover next to the 6.0V12 sign, so combine that with the new nameless black manifolds and you would have no marque information at all on the engine. frown

Cant help thinking that even ignore the lack of "Aston Martin" on them that the manifolds actually look better in white than they do in black anyway. Odd that the performance pack makes it look worse - I would have thought that Aston would have clearly understood the value of the under bonnet aesthetics too - hell they offer an under bonnet jewellery pack for the DB11!

Sounds good, but hard to tell for sure as the mic quality / headphones don't really make the most of it Im sure.

The intake manifolds are made of magnesium for weight reduction. Shaving the embossed metal lettering off the top helps achieve that. It's a bummer visually, but I'd suspect that's why they did it.

Ok fair enough I get what you are saying there, but surely they could have etched it back on - i.e. a weightless version? confused

Just wondering what you're experience was with the Performance Pack? Any regrets (apart from the deceiving underbonnet looks).

could be worse - don't the latest V12Vs have no Aston wings badge either ?

correct, so it would be a shame that other than the inspection plate a performance pack won't actually say Aston under the bonnet!

What next?! A Mercedes engine? wink
