Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water………….I'm back refreshed from a break in the Sun and ready to let you consider the latest addition to the Burghley Auction
which has been kindly donated by fellow PHer and International Director of the British Dragster Hall of Fame Geoff Stilwell.

Geoff has kindly donated via his Company www.beechunderwrting.co.uk the following thrilling experience so please read his mail as set out below…….smile

I am donating a VIP day for 2 at Santa Pod for the Euro Finals in September. It will be the Saturday when all the qualifying gets a bit hectic. So with the weather willing it will be a brilliant day out. During the day the lucky winner will get his or her ride in the 2 seater dragster.

The VIP day includes:-
VIP Parking
VIP Lunch & Drinks
Goodie Bags
Balcony viewing hospitality for 2 people including general admission for the weekend.
Passenger ride for 1 person
Includes Racing Suit and helmet
Safety briefing before the run
Performance print out and a certificate

Ride is only for 16 or over. Minimum height of 5 foot, Passengers must be able to get in and out of the car unaided.

The ride is in a specially built dragster for 2.

Engine 9.8 lite producing around 1000 bhp.

You will feel the G Force and this accelerates faster than a jet fighter.

Assuming track conditions are good….expect to achieve about 180mph in 7.9 seconds. Oh and by the way…it does 0 to 137mph in 4.9 seconds.

If there is bad weather the track will reschedule the run.

That should be fun.

Kindest Regards

Geoff

Take a look at what you could be experiencing below and I'm sure you'll all agree this is a very special opportunity to enjoy Geoff's hospitality and generosity first hand at Santa Pod.

Surely not Dewi……..biggrin

Lets try something a little less scary with this generous donation from HWM Aston Martin of Walton on Thames.

The team at HWM have kindly donated an extra large holdall from the Aston Martin luggage range as described below.

In black nubuck leather with contrasting polished saddle leather.

Exclusively designed by Aston Martin, each piece has been individually hand-made. Dimensions (in cm): W62 x H29 x D39

Product Code(s): 704137

£535.00 (incl Tax)

Go to www.astonmartin.com to take a look at the image in the shop section.

So there's another extremely good donation from within the dealer network so lets hope a few other dealers follow HWM's lead in making a contribution to this Event.

Many thanks to all the team at HWM Aston Martin of Walton on Thames again for their help and support……...clap

Thanks Ed
I gave Bobby at Dialaflight a call on a holiday and he has some great ideas and deals.
He has also travelled a fair bit and knew the hotels got me upgrades and his company had exclusive deals with my chosen airline. If you are about to book a holiday give them a try as a minimum you will be entertained he is a character.

So the perfect holiday is booked it is over the wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary it will be the perfect time to reveal when we get back my genius idea of buying another Aston and then run through the man maths that this one might actually make money oops I mean break even ok ok small loss rolleyes

Must remember to have this conversation on the last day!
Keep up the good work and fantastic auctions the variety is amazing.
In fact the only thing that's missing is a set of Vantage 5 spoke alloys what are the chances eh.....

Now we are a few pages into this thread I thought I would highlight some of the things that are going on in attempt to encourage a few others to consider registering and joining in.

So with the season rapidly approaching when we all like to get out our cars to enjoy a few trips and events such as the Burghley House Aston Martin Event which takes places on Sunday the 3rd of July at Burghley House near Stamford PE9 3JY.

At this stage of planning for this exciting Event I thought I would update you with a few points of interest in case you might like to share the day with the many others already registered to attend.

Currently 384 Aston Martins have registered to attend this Event ranging from the earliest a 1930 International, the International will be accompanied with cars from across the time line ending in the very latest from the Gaydon production line by way of the Vulcan.

Other notable cars registered to attend are headed by David Eyles' magnificent DB4 Zagato GT "2 VEV" which is adorned with history and pedigree, other interesting cars include several Le Mans models of the 1930's.

Several of new GT12's which are relatively new to the time line have registered to attend and of course no field would be complete without the One 77.

The wonderful setting that Burghley House provides is a fitting location and has plenty of interest in itself but add to this the support of 25 plus Aston related companies who have agreed to attend along with AM themselves able led by AP himself so there is the makings of a fine day I'm sure you will agree.

In addition to a very interesting field, further attractions will be on display whether it be a Motorsport related item or something more exotic there will be plenty to see with additional interest for everyone and I'm sure the fly past that has been confirmed for the afternoon will be enjoyed by all.

The flypast will be by the Battle of Britain Memorial flight and will consist of the Lancaster,Hurricane and the Spitfire, the fly past weather and mechanicals permitting will take place during our Raffle and Charity Auction circa 2 to 3pm.

The Raffle has had plenty of great donations already so be assured there's something for everybody and I've taken special care to collect plenty of items for the ladies and not just lot after lot of Aston related items which indeed there are many.

The Raffle will also include the Charity Auction which should be interesting as it contains some outstanding items, adventures, several thrilling experiences for the brave and thats all before we get to the Annual Services,Factory tours and other items which also include limited edition Motor Sport prints kindly donated by Tim Layzell and original pieces of artwork by Andrew Hill and Paul Whitehouse who will both be in attendance for the day.

Also included is a professional detail by Emerald Detailing and a Paintshield paint protection kit that Paintshield will install for the luckiest bidder.

The STAR lot donated so far is a 3 night break to New York staying in the Four Seasons Hotel which is one of NYC's finest Hotels, the trip also includes a room upgrade to a Premium King and comes on a bed and breakfast basis,Virgin Atlantic will fly you both ways in their Premium Economy cabin for this mini break valued at 5k.

www.fourseasons.com/newyork

If NYC is not your thing you might prefer to bid to have a professional photo shoot of your pride and joy anyway I won't give all the secrets away but I can confirm that all our members just might want to be involved on July the 3rd for this friendly and extraordinary gathering that celebrates the Marque whilst helping a few UK Charities along the way.

Don't like flying but enjoy a good break, well thats covered as well with a luxury 3 night stay at Loch Ness Lodge which sits on the banks of Loch Ness.

www.loch-ness-lodge.com

The Charities benefitting from the Event can be seen by visiting the Virgin Money Giving Page as below where any donation is also gratefully received.

http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Burghleyastonmarti...

This fantastic Event we have in the making would welcome any additional owners and fellow enthusiasts, to register your interest and attendance simply email: edwind.cunningham@btinternet.com with your name and the model of Aston Martin you would like to display.

This will be a fun packed day and one not to be missed so arrive early as there's going to be so much to do,see and take in including this wonderful House and its spectacular grounds.

www.burghley.co.uk

Well a short update but hopefully you can see this is a date worthy of putting in the diaries so I hope to hear from you soon.

You have outdone yourself Ed, I hope the weather is the same as last time. I loved it when the planes came over during the raffle/auction. Wouldn't it be good if we got it to 400! I think there will be a number of people just turn up on the day, so it's more than possible. Especially when they here about the emerald detailing auction lot, he's just amazing....

I will see if I can sort something out to add to the raffle.

So approaching 400 cars registered and only 48 people have donated to Ed's charity page, that's pretty poor. Come on chaps, this will be a great day out and it's all for charity. If everyone intending to come pops a tenner in the pot that would be an extra £3,500 to £4,000 for charity. biggrin

Im absolutely miserable.
Sold the V8V, Speedster is in the garage for a major refurb and the Maranello is having a big service.
So long story short: I'm being bankrupted by the dealers, its sunny outside and i have no cars to drive around in frown
I hate my life.
