Yes, not fun.Eventually went with the Insurers preferred place - Aston Martin Approved Bodyshop.
I only rejected their work 3 times
I was determined that my P+J would have none but the best and so I pay for that through higher premiums. I have only ever used Chubb Masterpiece or Zurich Private Clients for my cars.
Slightly off topic but I asked the chaps at Works Service if I could buy a 1-77 engine in a box. Answer: they only made 77 and they are all in use.
Bah!

Can you enlighten me on this? Thanks.
No probs. Most Insurance Policies will cover you to drive someone else's car, usually under 3rd party conditions - I'm sure you know this.
Chubb's more expensive policies also cater for this but the competitively-priced Aston one through Locktons does not offer this facility.
You will be covered, say, test driving another car with a view to purchasing etc but these are specific exemptions. Normal every day driving of your wife's car for example, will not be covered.
The easiest way around this is obviously to put yourself down as a named driver on her policy. In many cases, if your history is good, this will actually serve to reduce her premiums anyway.
Hope this helps
