Isn't there something like you can't wash or wax a car with a wrap on too? I'm sure I heard that before, no idea if it's true or not.

There was some discussion on that point in the big 'wrap' thread a few months back. but I can't recall what we resolved.

Perhaps Paddy would know confused

Slarti me old mucka, if we were discussing a £200 kid's toy then wrap me up and throw away the key.

We are, however, talking about a £90k car and for that reason I would not be prepared to take this risk.

BUT - your money, your decision smile
Indeed. Paint is applied in layers and finished with lacquer. I can imagine a wrap would make the appearance very flat - probably fine for a matt finish, not so great for a shiny finish.

I popped back today to have a look at the finished product and this time I managed to get some pics of the door shuts etc....

I have seen a Nissan GTR having a wrap removed and it came off with no problems, these guys guarantee all wrapps for 3 years.....

If you look to the right those are my new wheels waiting to go on mine when it comes back from paint etc... smile

Just out of curiosity, what is the cost of a good quality wrap compared to full respray?

What happens about stone chips etc in the wrap, would it not just show through the existing colour?

That one was £1900-00 as the guy had all the door shuts done. Stone chips dont seem to be a problem, from what people who have had it done have said. Obviously if a large stone hits it it would break the film I imagine.

But then if that happens, a quick visit back to the shop for a re-cover smile

I think if my car hadnt have been vandalised, I would have parted with the cash and had it done..

Where is this burntout? Does the warranty cover against damage during removal?

They are based in Ascot in Berkshire, I would imagine so!!! As long as it was removed by them and not someone else..

I would mention the company name but dont think your allowed to in the forums.

You sure??? Here goes.. I would just like to say though before I do, that I have no gain from doing so... I used these guys to detail my porsche before I sold it and have remained a loyal customer ever since,,,

They are called Valetmagic, I imagine some people on here know him already from having cars detailed...

Hi all,
Yes this is my car. Picked it up today. What a transformation. Gone the 'dull' hammerhead, which will suit when I'm 40+ but for now tango suits me. An amazing job done by Valet Magic and I'll be polishing her all winter - so yes she can be polished like any other car. All that have seen it so far, even close up have thought I have had it resprayed.

It looks fantastic, but why did you buy a colour your not keen on in the first place, perhaps a white one would have been better. ?

lickDon't get me wrong. Hammerhead silver is very nice and took me a long time to find the right colour from those available. White was ruled out - my other cars are white, and ok they are daily drivers but a nightmare for tar and other road nightmares. For my 40th I'll probably get it unwrapped and accept my age, but having sold a bright red Ferrari 430 spider and gone to a grey Aston - I fancied something...... Orange. And it matches my wedding colour scheme bounce

Personally, I think it looks stunning,it's the old marmite jobbie isn't it, you either love it or hate it, I do like it although it's not a colour I'd go for but applaud your brave choice. It's certainly a headturner, not that it wasn't in the first place but 'POW' this one smacks you straight between the eyes.
