The plinth is wrong and should be removed. The prosecution rests.
Agreed. Would it have saved your front splitter in the little parking fiasco though?yeti said:
The plinth is actually yuour 'bumper'. It complies with the crash regs and will take a crash up to 8mph (IIRC) with no damge to the car. That's how it can be sold in the US of the Americas without massive ugly impact bumpers.
I thought front plates weren't a legal requirement over there? Plus aren't they a different size - i.e. taller and narrower?Slarti said:
As in the satnav and bluetooth options allow buyers to tick the mental box that says "hmmm, i need satnav and bluetooth" - now that i've used both in my car, I can see no other practical purpose.
Interesting. The satnav gets a lot of hate, but I actually think it's OK (I have the latest disks). The graphics and UI are deeply ugly, but once you've coerced it into believing in your destination I found the voice instructions pretty decent, and when you get lost or ignore it it recovers pretty well. I actually prefer it to my one generation old TomTom. Maybe I'm just a sucker for the clipped vowels dominatrix voice The bluetooth isn't the best, and you have to yell a bit to be understood "I'M IN THE CAR", but it beats not having it at all. I've had some interesting conversations with people I've not spoken to it in years due to the confusion between the mic and iPhone voice dialing too. Bonus!
