AuTo Express - New Aston ?

I still don't quite get how AM will fill the gap for it's loyal buyers that want a more focussed sports car, faster/more expensive than Vantage S, once both V12 Vantage goes and the new dbs/vanquish is auto only.......other than by doing what you are of course ! :-)
I really hope they offer a true manual 'box as well. If they do, I'll be very interested. If it's paddle-pnly, it's a virtual certainty I won't be a buyer.yeti said:
Making ridiculous progress around the backroads near Gaydon (on the way to Bamford Rose) I saw something interesting...
Was bright sliver and heavily disguised with silver tape. Vantage wheelbase but 310 style bumpers and sills, VERY aggressive looking vehicle. No obvious V12V style bonnet vents. Only a short look as we were both flying along (well within the legal limits assuredly).
Next gen Vantage..?
Having looked at the 310 pictures again... it was probably a silver 310 I saw. Just looked short like a Vantage as it has deep sills and bumpers, much like the DBS looks shorter than the DB9 for the same reason. Was bright sliver and heavily disguised with silver tape. Cracking looking car, lots of presence although not very big... Should have spun round and tailed him
I see Autocar this week has a 'world exclusive' on the new Aston together with an image they have created of what it will look like. Not on their website yet but they reckon that the name has not been firmed up yet. They say Bulldog, Vanquish or Vignale are all under consideration - or perhaps ph'ers could come up with something better - we know Aston monitor the site
Little extra revealed in the article over what already discussed in this thread - and it does look very similar to Yeti's sighting.
Also an article stating that the Lagonda SUV will be resurrected this year to give AML a China boost. Makes sense given the Chinese appetite for SUV's rather than super cars - just hope the next reincarnation looks better.
