Yes - trying to start with the throttle wide-open will turn the engine over but not inject fuel. It is in the manual in the section relating to storage (at least in the Vanquish).
Same in the manual of my 2009 V8V. I practice it when sat in garage longer than 2 weeks. No problems so far.

Tried the starting system today. Foot flat to the floor , hold for a few seconds repeat the exercise twice more then release the pedal . No problem at all plus it must be beneficial for the engine.

I'm getting quite excited about this technique, will give it a go next time! Can't do any harm at all if its just priming the oil system, although must put a fair amount of current though the starter motor if done too often?

As you will have deduced Georgie is Lady S's nom de plume or is it the other way round?

She and our own George have a number of similarities - they're both gorgeous (in their own way) and I disagree about most things with both of them rofl

Right, time for another rum punch.

Merry Christmas all drink

I just hold my foot to the floor on the accelerator, then when the oil light goes out, I release the accelerator and the car starts as normal.

Must be better to do it that way rather than switch the starter off then on again?
