Well I have had my car for 3 weeks and in that time have covered 27 miles and not had one single problem (after they fixed the wing mirrors!).

Storing them on driveways in all conditions, frown
My car is kept on a driveway, as I do not have a large garage to put it in. Is there really a big problem with keeping them on the driveway??

As long as the car is driven and cleaned regularly and it is serviced correctly I don't see any problems at all.

I've had a few issues with the electronics, but the mechanicals have been rock solid. Nothing has ever stopped it moving.

Like others mine had several fixture and fit issues under warranty but that's all. Vantage was the top of a reliability survey for cars failing first mot (all makes) and db9 was in to ten top survey was in last 12 months . I saw another survey where Porcshe were 36th out of 37 for reliability despite many claims on that forum about AM cars being worse . My wife's Z4 was recovered twice, had had numerous issues and an engine rebuild at 23000 miles. Vantage had been much better up to now! I think it's old perceptions of the make.

I don't mind it's not as if its going to melt if I leave it outside in the rain and snow.

I store mine on the driveway.....I hope you detected the sarcasm therein.

The optimum is always to garage but that should not exclude owners with non-useable garages (like us) from enjoying these cars.

The elements will take their toll on the paintwork, rubber etc, though this can be mitigated by a decent cover and a regular cleaning regime.

AM do not regard the UK as an 'arduous' market, unlike parts of the US and Middle East, and this is reflected in their servicing regimes and the changing of air and pollen filters.

As you were boyos smile

Had some trouble early on with the V12V. After the engine harness was replaced, nothing but happy motoring for the last 5k miles. smile

....oh, and the AM is garaged. The horror.

All cars have issues from time to time David.

I have actually witnessed 2 occasions of screaming arguments at my BMW Dealer in Chester regarding the really poor service they give whilst under the original warranty. You have to jump through so many hoops just to get acknowledgement that your car is broken.

Do I become a Knob and get an Audi? Do I trust Merc? No chance.

Phil the neighbour sandwiched between us has three new Mercs on his drive. I think his E class coupe looks very nice and you could get a coffin in his estate.
As for cars on drives, it is our Costa del Wirral salt air and the UV that really does all the damage, especially the UV to the rubber and plastics. I would think a cover would help a lot.
Cement mixer has just arrived, soon have the beast back home!

My son only passed his test a year ago and I asked him recently who he dislikes on the road so far

Tbh, I'm using Zod's terminology from a while back and there is a LOT of tongue in cheek going on here (except George who is a veritable Knob wink)

I've seen some seriously good drivers in Audis, as well as every other type of car yes

Bugger off biggrin

To be fair, you did state that it was BMW Knobs who had jumped ship to Audi.....a balanced statement if ever I saw one yes
