Yes my 06 V8V has them in exactly the positions you've circled. Very slight indentations that you really have to look for so never really been bothered by them. I suspect they are due to the construction of the boot lid with the inside frame distorting the outer skin slightly. Looks like it is all bonded together so don't think it could be repaired just replaced. Good luck with getting AM to contribute towards that on a 7 year old car though.

It also occurred around the rear valance/bumper.
Mine has exactly that.

When I got the car it looked fine (or maybe I did not notice ?). Anyway, after a couple of months I noticed two dents in the rear bumper. I ended up buying a used one off ebay (and it was the right colour) and had it fitted. It looked fine when it was done, but now it's been a couple of months and I can see the dents again.

The bloke I bought it off said it came off his after about 3 months because of dents showing (he bought his Vantage from new). He said about the fixing pads etc being a problem. Looks like he was right.

I phone Aston Engineering Derby yesterday regarding this and they said they would look in to this for me. They phone back today and said they have spoken to a guy who worked at Aston Martin and has rectified this problem on quite a few cars under warranty, saying that the fault is to do with them using a slow bonding glue and a fast bonding glue which caused the problems on the earlier cars and that they had fixed it by using a red hot knife to break the bond between the skin and frame to release the skin and then the dents disappear.

Just spoke to the guys at Chiltern Aston who were very helpful, these are the guys that Aston Engineering spoke to, They said that they could cut the frame and skin for around £300 and that could help reducing/eliminate the dents, there is a chance that the paint/lacquer might crack which would mean spraying the tailgate which would cost £600.

I can confirm that on a couple of occasions we have managed to cut the bond between the skin and the frame which allows the dimpoles to relax?

Thanks for this post. My 06 Vantage has exactly the same small "dents" in the boot lid. I did not see them when I bought it 3 years ago and first noticed them under the fluorescent lights in the garage. If they are a "characteristic" rather than damage, they are easier to live with for now.
