The only bits about the car I dislike are the spoiler and the splitter. Would look much better without them imo.
I do share your opinion George, but those features probably do help sales of the Vanquish.

Mr. Reichman has explained in detail, why he waves his arms so much (sorry distracted), why each component is so important to the overall aerodynamics of the car.

I believe the front splitter is there to aid brake cooling? I'm sure the rear downforce (not that it would be needed at road speeds anyway), could be achieved by a lip spoiler as per the DBS.

I used to dislike both but having spent few hours following a vanquish, a db9 and a couple of vantages in convoy, I find the rear of the vanquish firstly really distinguishes it and secondly looks more modern. Then again I might be a little biased!

No one is following the wavy arms reference then.

Watch with sound switched off, for the full experience.

Would look even more modern with a set of clear tails. I guess we'll have to wait for the Vanquish S to get that and the manual gearbox. biggrin

I think I'd still stick to red now.... Hmmm vanquish s, I'd be surprised if there was a manual option but a new gearbox would be almost a certainty.

Red lights look right on the Vanuish, as they do on the One-77 (and on some colours of Vantages and DB9s).

Pity about the small side window, it is also present on the Vqs Coupe, but on the Volante it will not look so nice when driving topless......the DBS/DB9 Volante did not have this, and looks much smoother from the side!

When designing "long" cabrio's like this, the challenge is to design it without such a small side window (only older cabrio's have this side window.....because of lack of stiffness of the car)

And only classic TT2 auto box, so 2 fails imho........let's hope they will solve both!

Has Evo leaked the Vanquish Volante?

Normally it would mention if it was a render, plus that blue/blue does look like something Aston would do for press shots.

I'm not sure what issue of Evo that is but public announcement is any day, as per my post a week or so ago. If that's a subscriber copy of EVO, then iPad and newsagent copies are I imagine due in a few days time, in line with the embargo

Expect 'news' in the weeklies later this week - I say 'news' because we all know what a vanquish volante will look like - the only 'news' would appear to be the reference to the V12VS engine, which would appear to suggest the Bosch ECU - one assumes that will therefore appear in all the models in the current range using a V12 now

Indeed it is a subs copy, it should hit the newsstand on Wed.

I expect a Wed or Tue night announcement.

It was showed at the dealer here in Switzerland last thursday (white with brown interior). We weren't allowed to take pictures, though. They said "press release in a week", so...

This wavy arm condition may well be a genetic inheritance. Stemming from roots lying deep within the Fatherland. For here, as the history books describe to us, there is a history of funny wavy arm salutes. Today it has evolved to become less rigid, far more flexible but still the urge to emphasise commitment with wavy arm gestures remains and is irresistable to those carrying the gene. This condition, I think you will agree, can also be seen in Mareks oberleutnant, Dr Bez. Or am I just a total pimmel kopf. yes

I really enjoyed that!
It's great that the designer should have a bit of passion.
Aston is finished if they engineer that out!
