The better my team is the less I need to work - So I spend most of my time and energy helping them develop and grow so that I do not need to do any of the actual tasks and can be away without the business suffering smile
This is what end game looks like for me, but currently it's muggins doing all the graft. One day.....

Aero engine fitter at Rolls Royce civil aerospace and love it.
Working in the Experimental Department and come in to something new and different every day.
Just a small snippet; Different engine types with different mods to be fitted and then tested for enhanced performance and aiming to achieve better fuel economy, as well as the likes of monitoring engine vibration, temps, pressures etc. Great guys to work with, the floor has a really good team based working ethic as well as when dealing with the engine owners and the project with progress updates, issues etc.

Also the opportunity for overseas secondments are sometimes available to follow an engine out on test in a climate that can not be replicated here to support engine alterations while on test.
Every day is different and the variety always keeps you on your toes and eager to get to work.
I joined in 2001 from school, came out of my apprenticeship in 2004 and been on engine build since. Still learning about the new technologies and processes involved, especially with the latest engine type the Trent XWB.

On the testbed

And finally 1 of our outdoor test facilities at John C Stennis NASA Space Center in Mississippi. Had the pleasure of being assigned there for month, was an amazing experience:
