Brentwood Breakfast Meet - Aston Brentwood - Sun 16th Oct
Discussion
Just a quick update. We currently have 21 cars coming but that should hopefully be 30 by next Sunday. A week to go!
As well as breakfast snacks there will also be a catering van for those wishing for hot sausage rolls etc.
There will be two sales people and two hosts looking after us with one guy coming out with us for the drive.
I will shortly be putting up lunch details...

Morning Avin,
Just back from church to read your excellent missives.
Glad you are coming as you really liven up this forum and it would be nice to welcome you to our fair county.
"Drugs?" - Yes, of course I'm on drugs, I LIVE in Essex !
"President"? - I suspect you are far more sane than that chap with the magic carpet on his head and potentially his finger on the big red "Lets just NOOKEM" button. So yes, you would have my vote, were I a U.S citizen.
A little misogyny over Mutually Assured Destruction any day please.

I am acquainted with Essex as I once had some retail establishments in Romford and Lakeside.
On a sunny Sunday I occasionally motor down to Southend and take a long walk along the esplanade from the pier to Leigh.

avinalarf: you bringing the Mrs with you this time??
I have to admit you and El Toro definitely take up the "eccentric" allocation for this event...![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
Probably not....for some peculiar reason she's got the hump ....something to do with my young Russian mistress....go figure.....I really cannot understand the problem........I have to admit you and El Toro definitely take up the "eccentric" allocation for this event...

You would think she would APPRECIATE your gallant attempt to a prevent the next nuclear conflagration- you have already suggested running for President of the U.S but I'm sure Mrs Larf would complain about that too ! At least by taking the young Russki, you can spend more time at home with Mrs L., rather than debating with that Clinton woman. ;-)
Wimin !
Do what I did wiv my Doris (as you know from your Romford days, what we call them out here), buy her V8 Vantage !
Tends to keep 'em quiet.....Also cheaper in the long run than the inevitable fall-out from the Russian bird.....You really don't want her dad, who is probably Spetznaz, pitching up to you at Leigh Cockle Sheds one bright Sunday morn ! :-o

I know the Ladeeez do Steve - that's why we are all such Happy Chappies out here.
As far as the men liking a hot sausage though, if that's what you're hoping for on a Sunday morning, I think it might be more FRUITFUL for you back in The Metropolis. ;-)
Being upwest I have ventured to Far East and am looking forward to leaving Metropolis on Sunday. I have dined on your Cockles and Whelks and am partial to a pint of winkles wiv vinegar but not keen on your jellied eels. The only place I like a sausage is in a roll or between 2 slices of crusty bread .As far as the men liking a hot sausage though, if that's what you're hoping for on a Sunday morning, I think it might be more FRUITFUL for you back in The Metropolis. ;-)

Made for each other.
Definitely lowering the tone of this thread, unlike myself who always adds to the decorum and gravitas of our esteemed forum.
Just an update: we currently have 24 cars confirmed as well as quite a few maybes who I'm waiting on. The vast majority are Astons and McLarens. A bit of a British day out!
The ABSOLUTE MAX is 30 as that's all Aston Brentwood have space for. So if you know anyone who's wavering or may be interested let them know...![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)

"Evenin' all" (Avinalarf MIGHT remember "Dixon of Dock Green")
Steve:
I'm glad to hear it. Although, as I read of your culinary indulgences, I feared you were going to say you'd had a Wally round the back of The Cockles Sheds....Glad we avoided that one.
P.s.
Will you marry me ?
Avin:
Thank you for the gravitas- it's a rare and fine thang.
Nij:
Spoke to Senora Toro about 30 cars at Grange....We struggled to get our two in there on the way to Windsor Castle Concours a few weeks ago....Let's hope that was because it was a Friday. However, I doubt you will have the open spaces I see from the photos of your last caper.
She wondered if they had commandeered space in The Bull's car park opposite? Quite a nice pub but we expect them to do a lot of Sunday lunches.... I suppose an impromptu display of Astons & Maclarens might increase footfall.
Looking forward to welcoming you all to The Far East as Steve calls it. :-)

Hello my friend, from my understanding all 30 cars will be on the premises. That's their absolute max that they can accommodate so I assume they've moved certain things around?Spoke to Senora Toro about 30 cars at Grange....We struggled to get our two in there on the way to Windsor Castle Concours a few weeks ago....Let's hope that was because it was a Friday. We're now on 26 cars...

p.s. I was going to say " I take it you've got me down as coming".
BUT with all the smut and double entendres infesting this topic I thought better of it.

I swear I wrote down avinalarf in my spreadsheet the other day yet for some strange reason it seems to have vanished...Did you register on the Eventbrite page? Otherwise I'll add you now. Won't be the same without you!
![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
As you know I like to travel incognito so aim to keep a low profile.

Were you in King's Cross today? I saw a bald man with a scarf walking down the road... As you know I like to travel incognito so aim to keep a low profile.

Don't worry, I've added you to my spreadsheet. All I need to know is whether you'll be bringing any passengers, whether you'll be joining us for lunch and whether you'll be going straight to Brentwood or meeting up with some of us earlier at King's Cross.

Hi Nij.
It looks like I could make it on the way to a lunch somewhere else - hoping to join you for a quick coffee and hello. Is that OK?
Are you accepting intruders in Italian cars? I am looking after my son's Italian car this week and would probably come in that, also if OK.
All the best.
