Aston Martin - Owners who have bought more than one car.
Discussion
1985 Lagonda Black with Tan Interior
1984 Lagonda Silver with Blue interior
1988 Lagonda Tan on Tan (wish I never sold that one)
2007 Vantage with Works mods bought new including wood panel and door caps in burr walnut, tan interior silver out.
2009 Vantage Silver and tan, modified seats to match newer Vanquish diamond pattern.
2015 GT Alloro Green with grey interior
2015 V12S Timeless Certified - was a deceptive sale and demanded a replacement car which Aston complied.
2015 V12S Black on Black (not my favorite colors but not much choice on v12S as is on V8's) - Only mod so far is bronze grille.
Likely my last Aston - absolutely hate the current direction, no longer cohesive and elegant design.

1) 06 DB9 Volante --> px'd --> 2) 09 DBS Coupe (keeper)
3) 03 DB7 Volante --> px'd --> 5) 07 DB9 Volante --> px'd --> 6) 14 Vanquish Volante (keeper)
4) 02 Vanquish (keeper)
DB7 --> OK driver, but you see/feel its ancient XJS bones everywhere
Vanquish --> A year 'older' but decades newer than DB7. Driving it is a real eye opener: better than DB9 Volante (impressive solidity)
DBS --> So much better feel than early DB9 (at least Volante)
VV --> A definite step up in every way from previous models

On my 5th new one
V8 vantage in 2008
Sold in 2011 to buy my wife her dream house
New V8 vantage in 2012
Before moving to DB9.2
Then a Rapide S in 2014 and now picking up a new Rapide S in 2018
Changed dealers on the journey in order to secure deals I was happy with. To me driving an AM feels very special. I work very very hard at the cost of any sort of personal life and the AM obsession is my guilty pleasure and personal reward.
Regards
Josh

Well, I have had a couple ![biglaugh](/inc/images/biglaugh.gif)
Started in 2007 with a 4.3 V8V in meteorite with a black cherry interior. We specced it at the factory and still to this day do not know why we didn’t end up with tungsten and bitter chocolate interior that we walked in expecting to spec.

The next one was the recessions fault. In 2009 we upgraded to a new 4.7 V8V again meteorite but this time a black interior. Both these were SS cars.

The next one is my wife’s fault
we did our first tour in 2010 and she thought that a convertible would be the thing to have. So next was a DB9 Volante (470bhp version) in Lightening Silver. Great tourer but a bit quiet.

The next one was Aston’s fault (in more ways than one) they announced the roadster version of the V12V and we were buying the last normally aspirated V12 manual! We at least got our tungsten and bitter chocolate combination![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
![](https://thumbsnap.com/sc/MvmIxqit.jpg)
Then to keep the miles off our forever car we bought a V12VS roadster and shocked the dealer with our scheme![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
![](https://thumbsnap.com/sc/CfBbAGDA.jpg)
This one really is Aston’s fault they brought out another final, final last manual V12 Vantage, the AMR and that will be with us soon! I hope it is!
So I hope you will agree it’s not my fault we have had to buy all these Astons![rofl](/inc/images/rofl.gif)

That’s a long, rich and enviable AM history. Shame if you’ve fallen out of love with the new stuff. It’s part and parcel of the industry- some generations of creative design are better than others. History will judge. I think we’ve been lucky to have enjoyed the VH platform based cars over the last 14 years. History will judge those exceedly well I expect. 1984 Lagonda Silver with Blue interior
