I was just a bit shocked to be honest, the whole installation is nothing short of dog st rofl

Works have it up for £105k, and I can only hope that they will remove that film before anyone buys it.

What's more, if that was your car and the PPF installer did that, you wouldn't accept it would you. How on earth could anyone look at that and say good job, you've made my £150k car look good, let me pay the bill right now.

Seems like some people don't quite have the exacting standards that we do.

Watched a TGE video yesterday....

Apparently a full satin PPF on a nearly new Aventador by DUB/topaz was ~£5.2k

It was a satin PPF by Topaz, and the Aventador S was brand new. That's about as expensive as they get given the size of the Aventador, the complex shapes and the fact that it covered every bit of the car, effectively making it look like it has satin paint.

The satin grey paint from Lambo themselves is £17k, and the PPF protects the paint underneath too. So I really can't understand why anyone would spec the satin/matte paint from the factory now. You can save £12k, have exactly the same look and your paint is protected and frankly more resale friendly at the end of it when it can be removed.

Your comment on Chipex is interesting. I have seen various adverts and reviews which look good but I have been wary of considering it for the DB9. It is that good in your opinion? I am after something that will do a few stone chips on Tungsten. Thanks
My Tungsten V8V before and after, I got my kit just before Easter and was frankly stunned by the finish I was able to achieve.

PS I have no affiliation to Chipex, I just like products that do what they say on the tin.

Yuk. Clearly a low end attempt. I wouldn’t touch the stuff myself. Machine polish and ceramic coating much better. After 13k miles my black Aston has picked up maybe a dozen stone chips, which I’ve fixed to a high standard with a Chipex kit. I’ll just get the front end repainted if it gets out of hand.

Out of interest, I’d like to know what a high end PPF costs. Nobody ever seems to own up?
I don't have much in the way of quotes, but here's what I've got.
Expel Ultimate -
V12V Full bonnet - £400 inc VAT
V12V Front kit including bumper, splitter etc to rear of headlamps but with full bonnet. Side sills fully covered. Wing mirrors. Rear gravel rash protection behind wheels (diffuser/ish). £1,250 + VAT
V12V Full bonnet, two front wings full covers + DBS full front wing covers £1000 + VAT

I ended up with full front coverage all over to the back of the front wings. Full sills and rear arches to the waist line and rear diffuser covered.
It's a lot of piece of mind. Plus - cleaning heavy soiling and bug splats isn't a worry either anymore.
Can you pm me (or list on here) who did your application? Am in the NW and looking for a company to do my sons car.

I had my car painted at Works and then wrapped by them. Trust me when I say, all those that say polishes work - they don't!

Wrapping is also considerably cheaper than painting.......having had mine done I know.

BTW, can't reccomend Works enough. They made a brilliant job on my car as you would expect.
I have two suppliers that do incredible work. I recommend both.
