I can definitely understand the excitement and once in a life time experience of designing your own car and working with a manufacturer to create it, hell we've all dreamt of it. And again I can understand your disillusion with modern cars as it is the reoccur song of many (including myself) on this forum, so you're singing to the choir.
I meant the vulgarity is from my side, I mentioned the price on here and it was a vulgar move on my part and therefore I apologized, thank you for being understanding in any case
.
The car itself is done extremely tastefully, but again I can't help but think that the V12 Vantage S or the a 'touring' version of the GT12 should've been this way all along and thus more accessible to us mere mortals (myself in the secondary market).
Again, I hope you enjoy it in good health, please put some miles on it and thank you for being quite the gentleman about my idiotic indiscretion.

We wanted to create something that would be a v12 vantage freed from the constraints of mass production, budget etc while still being an Aston martin . I didnr want to create something crazy like some of the Ferrari one offs , I wanted something Aston Martin .
Where racier astons take away bodywork with vents and holes and add wings and sills we wanted to go the other way . Add back bodywork , remove sills etc etc . Something pure I didn't want to use the word retro , I think it was marek that used the word "romantic" I liked that a lot .
Now we have to do the set up , we are off to the ring soon in the prototype which is a Matt grey and is proper evil looking .
The car will get a lot of use and never be sold . Thank you for the well wishes

I'm looking forward to seeing a new thread when you take delivery.
Out of interest with the clay modelling and the overall experience, were you allowed to take photos at all and document it?

I'll do a thread from testing at the ring if they allow and a collection thread . Perhaps we could arrange a mini meet , this forum really helped me early on

It’s perfect and stunning! Good thing that the sills being reverted to the original was pointed out above - this decision emphasises the waist of the car very nicely.
Are the bonnet / headlight shape based on the V12 Vantage Zagato?
Not sure if they are all accounted for, but would love to use the design tools I have at my disposal to stylise the bonnet vent holes to something unique for one of the examples. It’s that sort of customisation with a factory that makes a project like this so special!
Thank you , that's so nice to hear Aston people like it so much . The embarrassing thing is that so many people have commented that's what the new vantage should have been .Are the bonnet / headlight shape based on the V12 Vantage Zagato?

We purposefully wanted a smooth and more classic look , I didnt want vents and wings all over it . This left Aston with cooling issues .
These were solved by the old school power bulge bonnet ( a design flair that actually helped ) and the bigger amr style grill at the front combined with the side vents .
I am so proud of what we all achieved . To me the car is completely perfect

Businesslike! Very cool car and project.
Zoe you see the centre console and gear shifter ,surrounds etc .We wanted high quality but still working and at the same time I killed the design bits I isn't like ( gear stick and surround etc. The all carbon waterfall with the hidden vents are a work of art

One of the details that I absolutely love about the V600 is the the perforated hood/bonnet, so much more subtle than the GT12/GT8 solution and I love that it was carried over from the DB10, also the side vents that are from the new Vantage just work on the VH Vantage, who would've thought?!We wanted to create something that would be a v12 vantage freed from the constraints of mass production, budget etc while still being an Aston martin . I so glad to hear that the car will never be sold and you'll be using it, it's always a shame when you see these beautiful machines stored and not used for their intended use.
Quick question; I noticed that there is a slat underneath the NAV screen, which I have never seen in other Aston Martins, is that just another HVAC duct or something else entirely?

I'm also really besotted with the holes . That was one of the many great ideas from guy Jenner at HWM Aston martin .I so glad to hear that the car will never be sold and you'll be using it, it's always a shame when you see these beautiful machines stored and not used for their intended use.

None of this would have happened if it wasn't for guy . He was the major force behind this and had some brilliant ideas .
The slat is a vent for the ac
Don't worry about car getting used .they all do in all weather except salt

It's always awesome/exciting to hear about the little details about these special projects and what conversations brought on these ideas. None of this would have happened if it wasn't for guy . He was the major force behind this and had some brilliant ideas .

Again a lovely little detail to have the vent for the ac designed in that manner.
Massive respect for having a 288GTO on track in the rain!!

What a fabulous project - something to be very proud of . Do you know when your car will be finished ? It’s great that Aston have used the V600 name on such a brilliant ending to Vantage VH platform . Can’t wait to see your finished car .
The red car is a customer car , I changed mine to lhd at the last minute hence the delay . I got chassis 007 though wtdoom said:

Sean
Mr D, fabulous story!!
Is your car the same Matt grey as press release?
Did it ever occur to you a slight power hike would make the car just that little bit more special? I was told initially they could achieve 610 bhp without too much being fettled. Why did AM decide to stick with 592 bhp in the end?
The quality of the gear knob is a nothing like what I was presented.

Is AM going to amend it or this is it? I'd be a little disappointed if they didn't.
