Ah, the fury of car owners who brooks no criticism, no matter how practical. I don't think anyone can be "up his arse" and "taking out" his arse at the same time. You nice chaps will have to show us how that neat trick is done.
I dont think anyone is actually paying attention to any criticisms you make LA, not because they are or are not valid but because you are a tt.
At least in the Aston I'll be comfortable in at least one fact that will make me happy, you wont be driving one.

Just make sure you don't go up the chuff of anything in it Rich. According to LA you might break it...
Missed you Saturday mate, a VMAX next year with the new arrival? Your school chum said he'd bring his - I'm sure yours will be nicer coloured.
Greg
Cheers Greg,
Gotta be careful in the V8's at speed else the wind resistance will cause a crumple :-)

stanwan said:Sadly, yes, but less so. The bumper section protrudes somewhat and can take a five mph shunt without other sections of the car taking the bump. The V8 is aluminium and expensive to repair, but as V6 says, it is still a very desirable car.
I take it that the 911s rear-engined layout is also a "design-weakness" in the event of a rear-end shunt.
Give it a rest mr pillock

I'll wait until you post a pic of front damage sustained to your V8 while merely parking, Shadytree. But I won't laugh. And I have a feeling neither will you.
Listen, why don't you pop down your local hardware store and purchase a chisel to hack that chip off your shoulder. You answers are becoming more and more hillarious.
Parking ? Damage ? WHAT THE are you on about
I think Greg hit the nail on the head
Now off back to the sad old git who's got a huge chip on his shoulder forum.

Oh, but I know you will laugh, because you are ALWAYS right, and we should bow down and worship the great intellect that is LA.

And hes mates with all the celebs in the world.... so be careful or our film careers are over.
I can see LA's point, but it isn't a design floor really is it?
Yes, it will have some kind of effect but you don't buy an £80k Aston based on its ability to absorb front end impacts. If it is on the road, it is insured. If it is on the track, it is insured and if it isn't you've accepted the risk that you may bin it in spectacular fashion.
Some cars like the Elise are supremely easy to write off after the slightest bump, it's just the way they are.
A design floor is the Ford Pinto, with the petrol tank pretty much in the rear bumper!
