2) there's a battery power down switch in the boot on the right hand side, that should keep you going for a few weeks although the car should be ok for 3 weeks anyway.

Best of luck with the purchase!!

I have some progress to report which raises a couple of minor questions. I have a holding deposit on one that fits my spec and will be making a 400+ mile round trip to view it on Tuesday. I am quietly confident it is going to meet my expectations.

1) It has the 400bhp power upgrade, while I have found some level of technical description of this I can't find any numbers on how this affects the performance. Anyone point me in the right direction ?

2) The way the timing of my purchase is working out means that I would be taking delivery a few days before disappearing on holiday for three weeks. It does not have the battery conditioner but will be locked away in my garage and I could leave it unarmed in terms of the alarm so it does not drain it. What's the chances of the battery being flat when I return if I leave it armed/unarmed ?

3) The AM Approved Used programme, I am assuming this works the same as any other like M-B, BMW, Porsche in that I will get the same level of support and service from my local dealer in the one year warranty period even though I didn't buy it from them ?

4) I play a lot of golf and can get the clubs in the passenger side, does anyone know if it's possible to get a collapsed golf cart of the Powakaddy/Motacaddy battery powered variety in the rear hatch area ? Not a deal-breaker but just wondering.

Thanks in advance for any help with this, it's getting exciting now and I didn't sleep very well last night as Tuesday suddenly seems a long way off.
I had the AM power upgrade fitted to mine last year, and combined with the Quick Silver exhaust made a fantastic difference. The engine is re-mapped and replacement inlet manifold - visual difference is the plenum chamber is black. If you take a look on the AM website, the mods are listed in the works service upgrade.

I regularly have left mine not driven for a couple of weeks frown , but never an issue on starting.

I'm pretty sure the AM warranty will be cover you across the complete (international) dealer network.

Don't play golf - but the boot is pretty good!

I've just upgraded to a 2010 model - I wonder if it's my old car?

Well despite the horrendous weather on both legs of the journey the trip was definitely worthwhile because I sealed the deal and take delivery next week. Here's the latest and immaculate (with much respect due to the previous owner) P&J, a Sept 07 V8 Sportshift complete with 400bhp upgrade and just under 6k miles. More pics to come when I get it home and in some decent light.

My youngest son made the trip with me and a huge vote of thanks is due to Sam at Stratstone Wilmslow for taking care of us smile
Can anyone give me a clue when this grin might wear off, my face hurts biggrin

Hi Alan
I don't know - these people who buy lovely cars and only do 6K miles smile
And the grin does not wear off - It just gets broader! I hope you have as much enjoyment with the car as I've had.
I'm just waiting for my '10 model to arrive to give my facial muscles a work out smile

I use Swisswax - I gave it the full treatment about 18 months ago, and then liberal applications of wax coatings every couple of months.
The wheels have been off a few times cleaned the inner rims waxed for good measure!
Sad - I know!

Hi Mike, would have been something of a wasted visit as there was very little to see other than admiring the condition of it. I take delivery next Thursday and at the moment that seems a long way off.
Thanks for all the advice along the way and the same to all the other folks on this forum, very helpful.

The new baby was delivered by Stratstone Wilmslow this morning, just taken my first solo flight...awesome! I am over the moon and when I get it cleaned up (it did 200 miles getting here with some rain along the way) I will post some decent pics.

I have to say that Stratstone have been very good, big thumbs up for Sam & Phil. beer
