I reckon Neil has hit the nail on the head with the Saudi scenario. Shudder to think of fuel prices in the near future if the Arab world keeps goong the same was as Egypt and Libya. Ship all the used V12V's to OZ, used 2010 model here is advertised for the equivalent of £267,000 I kid you not.
I think that might have something to do with tax smile

Most V12V's do a small annual mileage and are used occasionally. The difference between £100 a tank and £80 a tank is not really a big factor for most owners. It's annoying, especially considering that most of it is tax, but it certainly won't get me shipping my car to Australia.

There's always such a disproportionate knee jerk panic to fuel prices. Going out and buying a hybrid for £25k or whatever to save petrol is an act of total madness. £25k buys you a lot of petrol, whatever the price per litre.

We are a bit more fortunate on that front, around 80p a litre. Doesn't quite offset the purchase price of an Aston though.

pleased your having luck with the Gallardo, when i was selling mine, the very few dealers that were interested offered bids that scared the life out of me, and no chance of a private sale- had only done 9K miles!
I am still awaiting the deposit to go down on my G, but I have two parties currently pondering it and have had a bit of interest privately now the weather is improving slowly. No chance I would take the dealer offers which are around £15k down on private good value deals.

I think because of the limited lambo dealer network i was offered ( in 2007) 75K with the same dealers selling them for £95 plus. The very worst 'offer' came from Tom Hartley whos was ind enough to offer £65k! Actually most of the time it was at HR owen being fixed- was a happy day when i sold that- never again

I think the impression there was a lot for sale was down to three things;
Press cars coming up for sale
Dealers off loading their demonstrators
Prebuilt stock being reaching the stocking time limit.
I suspect we are now at a "normal" level of avialable cars.
I'm still waiting on the roadster though frown
