So what have you done with your Aston today? (Vol. 2)
Discussion
I removed the front plate plinth. Not that I especially wanted to, but I noticed someone probably reversed into mine and broke it, must have happened downtown Milan on Valentine's day.
I must admit now the front of the car looks more sleek, even if I now hope there will be no more accidental reversing, since the whole point of it was to protect the car. It is also true that I have now one more incentive to switch to a carbon fibre grille...
I now have the metal frame, I am happy to give it away for free to anyone who might need it.

Nice move, always looks a whole load better without the excessively chunky plinth!Small point but I made sure the top of my plate was flush with the bottom of the grille when I stuck it on, so as to ensure the shape of the AM Grille wasn't interrupted.
I do realise I am rather an@l on such aesthetic points tho!
I got my V12VS out of hibernation today, taxed it and filled it with fuel which cost exactly £100 for 65 litres, took it out for a 50 mile run. I was totally surprised that having taken it off of the road on 31 October last year it started on the button and had not been on charge or trickle charge in that time, mind you it has a new battery but very impressed at that length of time, i just wanted to test to see if it was worth re-newing the battery when i did.

I removed my plinth for exactly the same reason, only that the tt who backed into me did it so hard that the plinth pushed into the bumper and marked the paint!I must admit now the front of the car looks more sleek, even if I now hope there will be no more accidental reversing, since the whole point of it was to protect the car. Oh and another time someone backed into me and complete smashed the grille, not sure the plinth would have helped much there
Getting the old girl ready for its MOT at the end of the month before taxing it for the summer after her winter hibernation. The last job I did was to fit new handbrake shoes and I hadn't got around to finishing off the refitting.
So out with the locking wire and the brake calliper bolts now locked together. Ran it for a while and checked her over including the aircon.

No, you are right, but I did not wanted to punch new holes in the plate, it wasn't possible to flush it using the old ones. Small point but I made sure the top of my plate was flush with the bottom of the grille when I stuck it on, so as to ensure the shape of the AM Grille wasn't interrupted.
