I've not been following this thread that much recently as it mostly seems like banter rather than important stuff

Do I need to know/do anything ?

I have my eurotunnel booked, hotel in Beaune booked, deposit paid re the Beaune meal and french toll tag clicker. Do I need to be doing/taking anything else ?

Also, I seem to recall a dresscode instruction from JLC ? What's the situation with jeans for the evenings/daytime whilst in Geneva ?
Are you doing the Black Forest route back? If so you will need to book the Hotel Ritter in Durbach for the 12th and you will also need a Swiss Vignette. If not then you have done everything required.

On the subject of dress code, JLC have asked for business casual for the Manufacture visit. It is their offices and they do have other customers and visitors so they wish to maintain a professional aspect. For the meals, it is casual attire. Personally I shall be wearing chinos, shirts and jackets for most things.

Just for you Tony so you know you have everything done smile

Book the 06:50 Eurotunnel Folkestone-Calais on the 9th April
Book the Mercure Hotel in Beaune for one night on the 9th April
Book return Eurotunnel on 12th April

Breathalyser Kit (not absolutely necessary as law not in force. Best to have a dual pack or two separate ones)
High visibility jacket (one for each passenger, which must be stowed inside the car)
Warning triangle (we should all have one of those in the boot)
Bulb Kit (cheap one from eBay is fine as we cannot use the bulbs anyway)
Swiss Vignette (we will be on a Swiss motorway for a while so this is required)
Sanef Tag (optional but beats the queues)
Best to have with you your driving licence, V5 and insurance certificate.

am only missing swiss thingy.....will google it now
I'm not sure you will need it if you are not doing the Black Forest route back. I think Geneva to Calais is A16 all the way. Perhaps someone can confirm that before you buy a Vignette.

It states on the toll tag instructions to place it behind the rear view mirror on the patterned part of the windscreen. I don't have a patterned part. I also read somewhere that they do not work on heated windscreens, which mine is. Is that correct and, if so, where should I place mine to get picked up by the toll booth?

It does work with heated screens. Got mine slightly to the left of the rear view mirror, top of the screen. Look at mine next week then attach to the screen whilst you are on Eurotunnel.

That's the spirit yes

Back on topic, I suggest that we use a channel number that is not the default when you buy the radios (channel 1) as I am sure veryone never bothers to change it, so can we agree to change all to channel 2 ?

That is for those with radios biggrin
I suggest we select a channel and sub channel when we meet at Folkestone. I have my Binatone 8km set, Nick's same set and a spare Motorola set. I think we may have a set for nearly every car!

Good to know. I think I will use BlueTac to attach mine as I can see it is very sticky and may be a bcensoreder to get off again.

I think we may get some decent weather. Beaune looks sunny but 12 degrees on the 9th, Geneva looks a mix of sun and cloud but 15-18 degrees on the 10th and 11th, Durbach looks like rain and 15 degrees on the 12th.

I finally have the list of room allocations for the Valle de Joux. I will be sending it to you all via email this evening. I hope you will be happy with the allocations but, as I'm sure you will appreciate, getting 28 rooms is a bit if a challenge! So it was best efforts smile

I have sent the room allocations and final agenda for the Valle de Joux portion of the trip via email. I have also sent a list of the diners and dietary requirements for the Beaune evening for you to check (only reply if there is a correction). Some other minor information is in the email too. I hope I have got to you all in the email but as always please let me know if you haven't received it.

I think that is it. All that remains is to say see you at Folkestone and I hope you enjoy the drive, the Beaune evening, our time with JLC and the Black Forest run.

No pressies necessary. Just wish my wife could have been with us to meet you all and enjoy the trip. Will have to be at Hever for that as I can't make the Spring Run.

Lovely afternoon and so nice not to have the riff raff there! The Batard Montrachet was superb. Us City boys know how to party smile
