If we don't fill the list from the forum we can open it further an re advertise with AMOC. Another option is to offer one or two places to nominated AM dealers for their best customers. I would certainly like to offer 2 places to Harwoods in Chichester.
Dave, by all means go ahead and see if there are interested owners that would like to attend. We have at least 9 spare places to get back up to 35 entrants again,,,,I have no doubt whatsoever they will be responsible people,,,like what we are. 1. Y100 - (PHOTO)

I believe this is the complete and up to date list (24 cars). To keep the cost below £400 we need 3 more cars. I do know that Cockers and Seemon would like to bring their 'interim' cars along and if no-one else minds, I would like to agree.

Tony thank you,,,,anyone else please speak up, for or against,,,its your day so you have every right to express your opinion. If you feel that you would like to pm me thats fine. My main concern and why I feel inclined to allow just a few of our known friends to enter a different marque is based quite simply on my efforts to try and keep the individual cost below 400 squibs. I need your help here guys please, so don't be shy.
I know there are those like me that are really looking forward to the 19th but the way the list has shrunk over the last few weeks is I have to say most disappointing. The effect is of course to leave fewer owners to cover the cost of hiring the track,,,,leading to even more entrants 'dropping out'. Unless we see a rallying of owners wishing to enter, I may have to surrender and cancel the event, which will be a bladdy shame for those that are so looking forward to it (me included).
Okay, if there are no more takers by lunch time tomorrow I'll be left with no choice and will cancel. I'll check in the morning to see if the deposit is returnable, although I very much doubt it will be.
PS: I put details up on the AMOC site yesterday,,3 have replied today but so far no confirmed takers.

Have contacted MSV that look after Snetterton, they are looking at options and will come back to me later today or by tomorrow morning.
PS: Nick Rice at MSV has not as yet suggested what options there might be,,,he needed to refer it. He did say "you have signed for the day". Which I didn't particularly like the sound of. However, being an optimist, maybe he will be back with an offer we can afford.

This from the Track Hire Manager today:
Hi Bob,
I’m sorry to have to inform you of this, but I have had a discussion with our head of finance and lawyer and as you have signed the agreement you are in fact liable for the full hire amount. I understand the situation and can sympathise with you, but at this stage it is impossible for us to re sell the day.
Have you got affiliations to other owners clubs or groups that could come along on the day to increase the participant levels? I think at this stage it is a case of promoting the event as far and wide as possible to up the numbers.
Kind regards
Nick Rice

The last count on the list as I see it, we have 22 remaining good men and true. To get to £350 per car we need minimum 30 cars. I'm sure we can find 8 cars of whatever marque from somewhere within our friends on the forum. A pal of mine that was at Rockingham as a spectator has an XFS would probably like to join us on the track.

£350 is a good price; what puts me off these track days is the idea of needing two new tyres (or four half new tyres), and brake wear, so it's £1k+. Fun as it may be, that's a different proposition.
Most helpful, thank you. Guys I've got to go out now,,,be back before lights out.

How about the original 35 that were on the list the day you paid the deposit stump up the required sum
That seems fair. If you contact Simon at Cambridge Aston Martin, i'm sure he will have interested owners through his database??Gettoff said:
Not sure if serious or not, but that cant work. My point was I didn't want to share the track with someone who in all likelihood wouldn't give a toss about anyone else around them. A DB7 can be bought for a lot less than £30k but you wouldn't prevent someone from using that.
Jeff, not happening, I promise you now, not happening. There will be a zero tolerance policy in operation for our track day!!Here's a proposal that might work; Let those that are still on the list (assume Cockers and Seemon are included please) we have 24 entrants. Let those 24 make their transfer payments now (£350). Meanwhile we work on the remaining 6 spare places. I reckon we can fill them.
In the event that we fall short, the deficit be split between those that dropped out post deposit payment notice being posted June 3rd. On that date we had 35 + 1 reserve.
Does that seem fair?

I have no issue with this, still trying to see whether I can make it - probably not as I have a car needing the 3rd attempt on the same warranty issues.
I didn't foresee this as I wouldn't expect my main stealer to screw it up so much.
Certainly don't want Bob to be out of pocket for making the effort to organise an event.
We hope you can make it,,,the whole idea of these track days is for owners like you to be there and enjoy your fantastic car and appreciate just how capable they really are,,,not forgetting the craic,,,not forgetting that.I didn't foresee this as I wouldn't expect my main stealer to screw it up so much.
