Got to love a mako v12. Ever since detailing johns, I fell in love with the colour. So there are two ex factory mako v12's out there then?
Hi Paddy, yes you are correct, #646 and #963 (red interior). Plus Ex-johns #535 (now owned by "MB1") and mine #307. One of the factory prototypes is also a Mako but still in their ownership I think.
Cleaned it this am. Rear diffuser is a real PITA to get completely free of dirt How are most people managing this?
Also, the name plate on the door panel states 'carbon black'. Is this correct, as I though that only applied to Black cars?

carbon black refers to model name....they came in silver . red and black...
..
But isn't OP's car Mako BLUE?..
I thought the Carbon Black - in the V12V - was only Carbon Black. There are Carbon Edition models in the AM range but I was sure CB was only CB. Perhaps Mako Phil could confirm ?

I thought that too (and I have one!). They also had the carbon side strakes which don't appear on the Mako but difficult to tell from the photos. there have been photos emerging in recent weeks of some new 'carbon black' edition v12vs in matt black paint, with lots of CF goodies as standard a little like V12VR, which have a numbered 'x of 40' plaque on the sill, of which no official details have been forthcoming, although one statement that around half are for the US. Is this car numbered ?
The only official special edition of v12v other than this numbered edition was the original (and certainly still available until recently) carbon black edition, officially only available in carbon black. the dbs had both a carbon back and then a carbon edition, the latter in flame orange, ceramic grey or carbon black
it;s certainly an interesting car. More to the point it looks great !

Mako is a beautiful colour. Compared with all the new V12V R pictures that are now emerging the coupe form is so much more purposeful for this car. I my opinion this is the prettiest Aston ever made and that colour brings out the shape very well.
