All cars have issues from time to time David.

Renault Dealership 400 yards away is looking very appealing smile
At least you'll be able to walk home whilst they're fixing it. wink

Have had vantage for nearly 4 years now, a couple of faults and a damaged condenser, at the same time i am running a 2004 SL 500 merc.....rusty rear wings, water damage to can bus system under pass seat, water ingress to boot area, speed sensor, oxygen sensor, shagged engine mounts!, soft close on boot no longer working, lumbervsupports no longer working, no am on command system, leaking screen wash bottle, secondary catalysts fell apart, and so on, this car has only done 55000 miles, i get annoted when people who know f all tell me my Aston is not reliable.

The AM Dealer network is the BEST I have ever dealt with (albeit not perfect). I'm about to jump ship away from BMW in June after 12 years and 14 cars with them simply because their Dealer network is poor frown
Don't say that, II am considering BMW as my next daily driver!
Don't worry Horts, I've had plenty of BM's and no major problems though I do find there is an issue with their driver's doors which seem to fall off when they come into contact with a gate post. getmecoat

Local dealers service department is great but I have never bought a car from them which says all I need to about the 'sales' team.

I seem to be responsible for everything at the moment!
Bugger off biggrin

To be fair, you did state that it was BMW Knobs who had jumped ship to Audi.....a balanced statement if ever I saw one yes
An entirely factual and fair observation. biggrin

Erm... no major problems other that a spate of beemers going walkabout without the owners keys being used.

Yep. One of my clients lost his X6 thingy. Funny thing was one of his mates called him to say who are you shagging in my street. The theiving bds had parked it up just down the road to monitor whether it had a tracker. Most amusing

They all do that matey.

We got a 5 series back when they parked it up in a run down council area and a passing police car clocked it. We weren't so lucky with the 3 series frown

That's because they hid it in a ditch wink
Did you ever get it returned to working order?

Sold it on to a Garage, Mikey.

Got about £4.5k for it....a shortfall of about £8k left on the contract hire frown

We have now enjoyed Aston Martin ownership for exactly 2 years 2 months. I am very happy to report, no problems, nothing adverse at all! What I can say that the whole experience to date has simply been The Best!

Glad for the majority, but my experience has not been so good.

Dealer services & attitude (JCT in Leeds) - exceptional
Manufacturer attitude - crap

V8VR 2008, 20k miles, mine for last 5 months - newly replaced sportshift clutch reverted to component form after 800 miles, 2 x O2 sensors, 2 x door latches, 2 x door mirror mounts (corroded), new reversing aid control, water leak, paint blisters on front wing, supplying dealer (not JCT) had to have bubbling paint on door sorted.

All in all, a pathetic record. Hand built is no excuse. I have to question if the entirely bizarre obsession with clocking up mileage - or lack thereof - is in fact a subconscious form of risk avoidance.

I would never buy another Aston and have to say I would never advocate someone else to go there either

A sad story, but it does seem to be that you're the exception rather than the rule. If I was in your shoes, I'd feel the same however frown

That's what happened with my M5. No such luck with the X5.
