So that is where I have been going wrong.
The two bucket, two sponge and microfibre technique, is about my limit.
One point that I have recently discovered, is that Kiwi Parade Gloss will not adhere to Michelin tyres. Have never encountered problems with any makes of tyre before.
'Autoglym Instant Tyre Dressing - Fast Sheen or Matte Finish', works well though.
I do like clean tyres.

Gyeon tyre is my favourite but does require a hair dryer to really get it to dry properly post a good clean with some bilt surfex HD in my case. You will get about 4 weeks out of an application usually.

I think for many people the 2 bucket method is about their limit as well.

The Gyeon Q2M WetCoat is amazing. Need to use with a pressure washer at rinse. Gives the finish a flawless shine. I have Gyeon tire, but have only used it once and I know it took awhile to dry. The concentrate works out cheaper than the ready to use version , that being said I have stepped away from using them to using the older but more concentrated Artdeshine bio nano pro which is even cheaper overall. The trick on tyre is definitely using something to warm it up to dry it out, durability falls significantly without that stage. To the extent I now have my own garage hairdryer for such scenarios (and also lightly warming leather in Winter).
Attended an Aston Martin Sydney Service Clinic today. It was fantastic. You get to meet the techs that work on your car and spend an hour with them as they walk you through all the things they check. Three English techs that have years of experience. Daniel the guy that I spent the hour with was fantastic. Also a real enthusiast, very candid and loves the VH era cars the most and of course a great British sense of humour which I love. About the V8 he said they are pretty much bullet proof engines and never really sees any major problems.
Also got to have a look at the DB12 that they had there. It was Neutron white which looked spectacular and of course doesn’t carry through in the photos. Must resist the urge to test drive one. It would look rather nice next to my Vantage wouldn’t it.

I was there from 10-11.00am, pity i missed you, maybe catch up some otehr time
really informative morning
I've bought my last 2 cars from Tom and just happened to be in town
cant say I'm as impressed with the DB12 interior as everyone else, but the car looks great and I understand drives like a DBS

Pete,
Hope not impolite. Don't answer, unless you want to.
Did inspection of the damage provide any clues, for Mike to establish a possible original cause for the disaster ?
David.
Remember, the failed engine was a remanufactured one put in my car at 20K miles by Works Service (when still under warranty) due to valve shim rattle - why oh why couldn't they have repaired the engine rather than putting a reconditioned one in? Who knows what the history of that engine was and what mileage the valves had done when it was remanufactured and whether or not new valves were used in the remanufacturing?
Anyway, all history and now I have virtually the ultimate 4.7 V8 road engine in my car that I'm hoping will serve me well until they stop us driving these wonderful cars.

Jealous of our Sydney brethren… I’d planned to take my car out for a run as been sat in a friends garage for 2+ weeks since I moved house, as forecast was dry this weekend. Of course by the time I got out on Sunday, it rained, again, so just sat there warming it through for a bit. Looks like I might catch the next rain break in 2 weeks time if I’m lucky….

I had some autoglym tyre dressing in the missus mini cleaning pack, seems to work fine on the ps4. I also like clean tyres!
If you use a power washer. Get some Gyeon WetCoat, spray on a section at a time, cut it off with power washer, use on paint, glass, wheels. You’ll thank me later. I bought a new battery for my V12s, and having read up about the process of replacement, got myself ready for the unwanted challenge of slipping the hated battery clamps off.
Having got set up and armed with a steaming cup of coffee, I fastidiously followed the directions from the service manual, the seat was powered back 90 minutes later, I was quite chuffed with myself.
As I wondered how to dispose of the old battery, I noted that it was in remarkable condition, it looked in mint condition, as good as new. Indeed it was, I had taken out the old battery and then installed……….the old battery.
It took 25 minutes the second time round.
It’s running like a dream, I simply love it.
