I had a surprise when taking my AMR into Bristol today that there was a DBS in Zaffre as well and got a chance to drive it. Bonkers indeed but I have decided to wait to wait for the DBS Superleggera AMR Volante ![biglaugh](/inc/images/biglaugh.gif)
We spoke briefly as you were getting out of it. Vantage looked lovely.![biglaugh](/inc/images/biglaugh.gif)

Drove the car at Bristol today.
Vanquish felt slow on the way home.
Bonkers car, can’t afford one now, but the want is very very strong. Loved it.
Well done Aston.
Also drove the DBS on Monday, and definitely a great car. Just a shame didn't have it for a couple of hours!Vanquish felt slow on the way home.

Great to drive. Not great to look at. Someone at the factory was having a laugh - Lime Essence and an all black interior!

What the hell is wrong with Aston? There's nothing wrong with bright colors, but this color is just plain awful. Aston have so many great colors in their palette, and they opt for this...![](https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1846/42387746250_698baff330_b.jpg)

Does anyone want to help me carry all the tins of Lime Essence paint out of the Aston Martin factory?
+1. I volunteer. How to make a car look awful, just get some Lime Essence paint.
First a model they call the predator, and now the very top model. What are they thinking?
There once was an association (although whether true I have no idea), that if you needed to show off, then a lime coloured Lamborghini with a stripe, scissor doors and two snow ploughs on the front, was an ideal way to begin.
Do you think Aston Martin are trying to attract the same customers now ?
Surely they won't put James Bond in a Sherbert Lemon Aston Martin next year. Spies need to be 'under the radar'. Hopefully they will realise in time.

Focus groups, and more focus groups no doubt. Afterall they are trying to become a plc so everything must be governed by marketing departments that back off any creativity (and corporate responsibility) to randomised groups of incentivised volunteers. But I do quite like it on the dbs. If I was dropping £250k on a car I would probably want it as loud and shouty as possible. Innit.

Each to their own and all that but Aston need their head testing producing this. How to **** up an amazing car. Have they hired Katie price?? ![](https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1846/42387746250_698baff330_b.jpg)
Its tricky! I pull some mates legs about 'kindergarten mauve' or adding 'volcano' before a pushy colour name on some of their Porsche/Maccas but Aston has possibly been too understated and monochrome for a while now? I like my (ultra rare!) midnight blue car - so subtle & classy. Subtle and understated was so part of the appeal of the brand - but if someone wants one in a lairy colour and it works for them thats just good business - hate the Subway lime essence and nursery blue ones myself!
I just looked at this thread again. When I see that lime essence car I cannot believe it left the factory. What are AML thinking? Who are they aiming that at? Like the new Vantage launch. Sure, it may work in Dubai, but the rest of the World?
I know they want to attract new market segment of buyers, but they need to be careful. Many buy Aston’s because they offer understated style and exude class.
Once they appeal to the ‘look at me I’m rich t
t’ brigade, then many will not want to be associated with the brand.
Fine balancing act I’m Sure.
Sorry for the rant, they got it right with the red launch DBS. Now seeing that, I’m just disappointed. I’m also not a vegan.

Not too sure it would work in Dubai. The dealership in Dubai is small and has about 6 cars in it. None of them are shiny-in-your-face colours like this when i was last in there.I know they want to attract new market segment of buyers, but they need to be careful. But i think driving it where i live (large village/small town) in Dorset, to the local Tesco Express i would be a little self-conscious and thats coming from someone who has a Fire Red V8V!
