Finally got round to adjusting the fitment of my headlights. They have come up about 5mm at the front edge. There is a large nut under the front edge of headlight which pushed them up nicely.

Whilst things were in bits.....
Air filter change

Not bad actually but have new ones anyway so swapped them

Cleaned the wheel arch liners

Cleaned air boxes

Gave the under tray a good clean too

Sat in it and listened to the Premium Sound System earsmusicpartysmile

Rewarding and relaxing after having plugged in my new Foxwell NT530 as I had managed to provoke "Engine system service urgent - limp-home mode" (forgive me the rough translation) last weekend by manoeuvring back and forth several times to park the car correctly rolleyes The warning message had immediately disappeared on start-up today and the OBD II reader found no faults/trouble codes. Phew! woohoodrink

I had a strange “low battery” message pop up yesterday. The car has had no problems starting, electrics seem fine, and the battery conditioner has been plugged in all the time it’s been parked in the garage. A little bit of digging around led me to come to the conclusion that perhaps the problem was with the battery in the glass key. So I changed it today. You need a couple of very small screwdrivers, and very small hands would probably help too. Unfortunately, I only have the former, but it seemed to go ok, and the key seems to be working as normal, with no dealer recoding apparently required. Thanks to V8V Pete for some very detailed instructions in this old thread that I dug up from late 2018.

So does that mean when the key battery is low it will read "Low battery" and not "Low key battery" (or similiar)? Important to know before getting on the wrong track!

Well that’s the key question (pardon the pun!)

I don’t actually know the answer but the car isn’t exhibiting any of the usual symptoms of a main battery which is on the way out. Last time my main battery conked out, as a result of the tracker drain, there were no warning messages at all. It took a few weeks to drain completely and there were a few electrical gremlins along the way too. The manual says it could be a warning that the main battery is on the way out but who knows? I’m fairly sure the battery in the glass key hasn’t been replaced for a long time though. The car is due to go in for a service soon, so I’ll mention it as and when I can get it in.

Otherwise, I’ll keep you posted if anything happens. I’ll probably be on the phone to the recovery guys next week, now I’ve said that!

Best Regards

They weren't too bad actually. They are dark coloured anyway. Just a few bugs etc in there.
Odd though that the new ones have more pleats

I took my V12vs out on my favorite Texas roads and gave her a proper spanking . Hard on the throttle for a good 300 miles of tight twisty roads. Killed a ton of bugs , dodged a lot of buzzards dining on last nights road kill and generally had a blast throttling that sweet V12. Two tanks of premium were burned and I loved every single mile .

Discovered bird poo on the bonnet in two places, used the usual removal methods but appears to have etched in frown

Short of machine polishing any of you guys got any ‘home’ fixes that might help?

Richard
