I wish Aston would create a completely different looking car, but one that is also very pretty.
I hope the exact opposite. They need to evolve their almost perfect current design with subtle changes as per the 911. To create a completely different shape would just be fking stupid. tommy vercetti said:

Problem is; squint at a Jag or an M6, or even a 599 and that's the silhouette that modern large coupes have. Large engine up front, 2 seats or 2 + 2, there is very little room for innovation due to safety regs and packaging constraints.I think the DB9 could be considered an evolution, design-wise, of the DB7 and the next cars will follow that pattern. They are considered by many to be the best proportioned cars made anyway and the final design is a masterpiece.
Why change? Same for the 911, why change?
I concur, why mess with perfection? The current line up (including the age-less vanquish S), has got to be the most beautiful and well proportioned Astons to date (IMO).
I do like the idea of a vanquish return though. And that Aston testing pic just seems to "fit" a Vanquish title.
Perhaps a slot between the DBS and one-77????
600bhp Vanquishness on a VH frame? Just throwing it out there...

I agree that they are all very pretty, and I know this has been said a million times, but they all look the same.
It's a company theme. Have you never noticed how every Audi looks the same just varying sizes? It's exactly the same with Aston but seems worse as there are only really 3 models. Look at Peugeot aswell! 207/307/407
Does a cygnet REALLY look like a DB....?
Did a DB7 REALLY look like an old Virage?
Do most modern front engine engined RWD coupes steal styling cues from Astons???
YES! They flippin well do!
Since the popularity of the DB9/ Vantage how many cars now have side vents in the front wings as styling? LOOK at that new merc slk! It's a direct rip off!
Look at jags styling of xf and xk with lights and flow lines.
Look at that Toyota GT86 thingy, or the Hyundai coupe gen 3,
Sorry but for me, when the DB7 came out it really set the future trend for coupes. Astons look like Astons and have a very familiar, recognisable family shape. THEY SHOULD LOOK THE SAME!
Everything else just copies.
Not that I'm biased in any way....

Does anyone else think the rear quarter window trim looks a bit off? IMO it looks a bit too angular. I prefer the more flowing line in the lower edge of the trim in the current DB model.
It's camouflaged. You can see the real window profile has been blacked out if you zoom in.KarlFranz said:

Doubt it's the real thing - the trim doesnt even look fixed on properly in the first two picsstevewushu said:

I'm with you Steve. Looking at the A5 you could be forgiven for thinking AM stood for Audi Martin.Everything else just copies.

And so you have a choice....either get annoyed about blatant plagiarism...or take it as a compliment that such a small niche producer has the power to make the big boys jump through so many hoops just to keep up with its designs

Delirium! Just back from A+E - baby Aston bit me
Well shut my finger in the door - doh!
The exact thing happened to me at 4am at Man Airport car park. I had to do a presentation with a throbbing great big index finger. Brought new meaning to delivering my PowerPoint. Those doors are bloody heavy, and painful!Well shut my finger in the door - doh!
