So what have you done with your Aston today?
Discussion
Changed the inner door handles for carbon fibre ones to match the ski slope/waterfall that I did last year. Weight saving of just over 1kg but that clearly wasn't why I did it. I just love them and managed to get a good pair at a good(ish!) price.
If anyone wants a pair of very good condition piano black ones (with or without Obsidian arm rests) just PM me.

Took mine and the Mrs up to the North Norfolk coast for a night away - loved it, if you can find a quiet stretch it's a great road.
Then stopped of on the way home for a cup of tea.
The very small open air car park area was full so had to park inside - Mrs 66MK not impressed when I took the opportunity to explore the acoustics on exit!!!

Apologies for skirting the questions about this, been a hellish last couple of weeks for personal reasons. Here's the story about the breakdown:

good write up in the blog and valuable lesson for all
is there any diagrammatic view of the cable connection to help better understand the way to rectify if it happens to mere mortals

I don't have one, but it isn't actually that hard to do. The biggest challenge is that you have to do it blind since you can't really see the topside of the gearbox. That was the worst part of doing it while everything was so hot... When cold, no biggie. Just reach your hand up there and feel for the cable. Trace the cable toward the rear of the car. The end is the socket, so you just need to feel around for the ball mount. Once you've found that, press the socket onto the ball and give a little wiggle to make sure it's 'secure' (as secure as it can be, anyway). Everything's close together so it's not terribly difficult to find each bit, but you have to do it by feel.good write up in the blog and valuable lesson for all

Going back to Tuesday, went along to the first Birthday bash at AM Bristol with the Vantage. Cupcakes, drinks and a test drive in...
Quite a moment for me personally, first drive of a V12 Aston, and possibly one of the last of the breed, that makes the most wonderful noise, goes like a rocket ship and doesn't rattle your tooth fillings out. Utterly brilliant and I was sad when it had to end. I've spent the remainder of the week devising a way to own one...
