Such a thing wouldn't happen in a DB9.

Everything else just copies.
Not that I'm biased in any way....
I'm with you Steve. Looking at the A5 you could be forgiven for thinking AM stood for Audi Martin.

And so you have a choice....either get annoyed about blatant plagiarism...or take it as a compliment that such a small niche producer has the power to make the big boys jump through so many hoops just to keep up with its designs smile
The A5 resembles an Aston only in the way that Mr Creosote resembles James BOnd.

Bit busy to re-host the pics, but there are more undisguised shots here:

Looks pretty heavily disguised with false panels to me confused

Looks like you'd expect in 2012:
- Virage / Rapide lights, presumably with DRLs in there
- Higher bonnet to give clumsy pedestrians a softer landing
- Audi A5-style sharper creases because its fashionable
- continuation of the side strakes down the doors, like the Virage and Rapide
- Looks like One77 style rear lights

Perhaps unexpected is
- it seems to be a hatchback
- seems to have vents on the bonnet
- nice big, maybe multiple exhausts

I like it, its a gentle update of a shape we love

If this 'new DB9' is really how it will look, then owners of current models will see their cars' values go up 10% overnight.

This is an abomination. Complete clash of styling elements, front to back.

Aston design has completely lost their touch...a real shame.

I love the aggressive swoop on the rear shoulders of the car, looks great. I will save judgement on the car until I see the final design, but I'm liking what I'm seeing so far smile

I think they've done a wonderful job upgrading the cygnet. Its the new headlights that have transformed it

If you look closely at the third picture you will notice that they have completely re-styled the rear quarter window but it is masked off. The real window is much longer.

All that AGM type front spoiler nonsense is just to knock you off the scent.

It's the DBS, not DB9 and I've just been invited to Gaydon for a preview next month.

Brilliant, will be great to see it!! Wonder if we'll get a sneak preview too on the 27th..?

Hope there's a manual gearbox option, with Virage as auto only, maybe!!

Can't be the DB9 replacement, far too aggressive and purposeful looking for that. It will scare the existing owners! wink
Got hints of a Vanquish at the rear three quarters.
Like the look of that
Gents. Tis the DB9/Virage replacement. teacher
