One thing I found a little off putting is the fact that the center badge/air bag is not centered at the steering wheel's axis of rotation. As the wheel is turned, the bag hub traces a pretty exaggerated eccentric circle. Very noticeable in the video test of the car as the wheel is being twirled in the switchbacks.
And look, the wheel is straight out of an evoque.............

Aston would never raid another manufacturer's parts bin, even if they were the same company.............oh hold on!! getmecoat

Ashley,

I have not read all this thread but felt compelled to tell you of my experience at the Jaguar dealership in Cheltenham today.

My Vantage S was in H.R.Owen for a small warranty job. (they were replacing the drivers mirror because the alloy base was chipped by a stone , they replaced the whole thing, as usual I am delighted with their level of customer care) As I returned early I decided to go and have a look at the new F.Type in the adjacent showroom. On opening the door, to my right was sitting a salesman. He blanked me and picked up his phone! I scanned the showroom looking for an F Type. Another salesman got up from his desk and walked off in the opposite direction. By this time I was stood by the receptionist who asked if she could help. I asked if there was an F.Type that I could see , she replied No! By this time I was getting quite cross so I remained where I was. Then she piped up saying that there would be one there on Saturday. I thanked her waited a moment and walked out!

Maybe I have been spoilt by Aston Martin's level of service in all aspects of customer care but this performance today was truly awful . I have some 23 years motor trade experience and would never have let such an opportunity pass me by when I was selling cars. As a consequence I will never darken their doors again .

The bottom line here is this...........you are out in your Aston and a Jag driver is beside you or near you.
You know for a fact he desires your Aston more than you desire the Jag.

Anyway I don't like Gin & Tonic and the last time I had a blazer was my first day at school, so that rules me out of the F-Type

The point is that they are trying to get back to their roots with desireable cars. C-Type, D-Type, E-Type, XK120 / 140 / 150 etc. Le Mans domination etc. the history is there. They just had a few dodgy years which need sweeping under the carpet.
